At the button of the "Post Reply" page is an Options field, "Deactivate smilies in this post" is activated by default...could that be ya problem with the smileys ;)

Yep, it's checked because actually, we don't have a working "CODE" tag.
It's code tag that deactivate smileys in code posted.
