whoa, long time havent been here... had some health problems and so on... I see that things have moved on, few changes made in board... Can u tell me what is newest ptokaX release for public? (its not important how stable it is :D) I see some fresh version numbers like PtokaX DC Hub 0.3.3.0 build 16.04... can I get it somehow? I would like to start my hub all over again with new software in my hands :)

this is a client problem not ptokax.
you can encounter this also on a.i. when viewing the logfiles.

I test it with your .ini and all is ok... here is two reasons why you don't see OpChat:
1 ) is problem with you client
2 ) you get in without OP status (OpChat is visible only to OP - users with key)  :]

If PtokaX crash, is created PtokaxDebug.log and PtokaxDebugExt.log in PtokaX folder.
If you you have this files (first one is enought), i need it to find where it crash  :)

Maybe your script cause this problem, anyway i have it today reported from another user... and fixed (not in perfect way, file is in use -> no save posible, but i add save of RegisteredUsers.dat to hub close and maybe here it success with save) :]

Btw fixed version is available in my DC share :))

Post by: toolmanwill on 02 March, 2005, 00:42:19
apparently the hub itself is not crashing because it is not creating the PtokaxDebug.log   but does produce an bug report to send to microsoft, however i was not able to copy it.
Title:
Post by: ruler on 02 March, 2005, 00:53:23
it is creating the PtokaxDebug.log because that is where i copied the error report from just before i cleared it.
i was rather hoping that this was not a bug but it seems it is. still, if its a bug, it can be fixed  :D

if you are still making small changes to the hubsoft for future releases then i have just 1 request  :D
in the RegisteredUsers.Dat is it posible to show the users last logoff date? so that on the register console it would show...

User | Password | Profile | Last Logoff

the reason is, its a real pain using !userinfo on every registered user to see when they were last in the hub hence making it very difficult to decide who to unregister and who not too?
just an idea  8o

thanks
Title: Regcleaner!
Post by: Andoz on 02 March, 2005, 21:31:21
In old hubsoft i had a script called Reg_Cleaner. It deleted regged user if they didnt log in for as many weeks as i told it to be.
Maby Optimus is making the same for this new lua 5 stuff.
It was in RC9.0g  and maby when RC10 is finished it will be there to.  8)

Hello, I'm currently running ptokax build 16.04 and so far no probs except one thing.

On our network we have a multihub chat, its username is U*N and now that dont seem to be a valid nick, I do not have nickcheck enabled but still it says nick contains forbidden charachters, I'd assume that is the * that casues that.

Worked fine on the previous build.

Any reason why and is it possible to make it an allowed charchters in the next builds?

Yes * is not allowed.

* is one of forbiden characters in filenames, from any user you need to download filelist and this filelist have filename contains user nick -> if usernick contains * is not posible to save user filelist :]

Yes * is not allowed. ?

Hmmm PPK,

Wich other characters are also blocked by PX ? So i can remove them from the badname checker on my script.

I also would like to thank you for your work on this new version. It's running perfect.

Illegal Username Chars set in Ptokax ( users will be disconnected with any of these in their Nicks )

I have to say that I've seen a nick " [  Sonic?  ]  " ( I am absolutely sure of this ) in Px 15.25 and I guess he was using a modified DC++ or using space characters other than non-breaking space ( character code 0xA0 )

Both :
GetHubBotName()
GetHubBot()

return the same value (HubBotName).  GetHubBot() should return 0 or 1 (off or on) ?

With respect to the bug on Stop Hub (with user Statistics enabled), if you have a users.mdb file from an old PtokaX in that directory it works a lot better :)

thanks to Danshuk for telling me this one :)

SMP is even quite unsupported in Windows itself. Try Linux/BSD with a  kernel compiled to support it.

I don't know if this is really considered a bug but whenever you put in a space for the opchat like Hub Pub you get the opchat named that but you also get a regular user on the userlist with the name Hub and the description is Pub...just thought it was weird, however if you do alt+0160 instead the issue is fixed.

hmm, I tested the thing you said, your right, if there is a space in the op chat name, a extra user in the userlist is created and the first part become the username and the last part the description in the userlist.

It's not so important, but PPK, fix this until the next release :)

Why space to opchat? It kills it.

having a script that adds a description to your ops chat will cause the same problem if you use a space in the Name...

In 16.05 (not sure about 16.04) , if you remove a script from the scripts directory, and restart scripts, then on the Advanced Page of PtokaX (the Memory section) the script is removed from there.  But the first script gets a second (duplicate) entry :S

Hope this makes sense. :)

***Edit. This is an odd one. In my normal hub (port 411) !ban user will ban only the IP of the user.  In my test hub (port 666), with ALL the other settings the same, !ban user does both nick and IP ban.
Title: Bug or did i miss something?

Hi all,

i'm test-running PtokaX 0.3.3.0 build 16.04. Everything works fine, except that i get disconnected from the hub exactly after  30 minutes (hub runs in local network). But only with dc++ 0.670 which accesses the hub via LAN. dc++ 0.0434 which runs on the same machine as the hub does not have the same problem.

Is it a problem with Ptokax or did i miss something?

Greetings and thanks to developers,

Hades

On the LAN, is there DHCP? What is the lease time if so? What IP are you using?
Title: Tech Specs to clearify
Post by: derhades on 07 March, 2005, 16:03:09
The hubmachine runs on w2k sp4, network is 100 mbit with static ips from private range (192.168.2.2 for my pc, and 192.168.2.3 for the hub machine)

The regular hub is on the same machine as the hub mentioned above (runs on Ptokax 0.3.3.0 15.25 without any problems for two months)

As told i don't have any problems staying in the test hub if i use dc++ 0.0434. So perhaps the problem only exists between new Ptokax and new dc++?

Greetings,

Hades

On first hub is normal user, on second registered user ?(
Registered user is banned with nick and IP, because PtokaX allow registered users with banned only IP to get in ;)

Version: PtokaX DC Hub 0.3.3.0 build 16.04a [debug] built on Mar  1 2005 23:29:26
Uptime: 5 days, 3 hours, 39 minutes
Users (Max/Actual Peak (Max Peak)/Logged) : 1250 / 1486 (1486) / 1241

I don't know exactly when the new Ptokax came out compared to the releasedate of the newest dc++, but perhaps there is a trace in it to find the problem.

If Ptokax doesn't know about the dc++ cleintversion 0.670 would it treat the "unknown" client differently than the old and known one  0.0434?

If running good, and you don't want new added features then you don't need to upgrade now... upgrade after your version crash, or server crash, or server need restart ... :D

PtokaX don't care about client versions (that's script job), i running client based on DC++ 0.670 and don't have problem ;)
And no, 0.670 is not unknown :]

Thank you all for replying.

Since 18:00 gmt+1 the error disappeared without any changes made by me. No idea why.

By the way:
I want to update because my old hub curently runs on port 666 which stops some users from connecting. So i want to use the new Ptokax for beeing easily able to use a second port, one more standard for a hub.

We just said about 1,000 times that LuaSockets is disabled, and converting an IP to a hostname requires a DNS lookup.
