I'm Running a ProtaX 0.3.2.6 TD4 + RoboCop 8b...

My requirements are considerably low:

MinShare 1GB
MaxHub 60
No ratio,slots,ISP Chesks

i have associates i'm administaring the HUB with.

The Problem is most of my users are Leeches...
unfortunately

I might increase The Check But that's like shooting myself in the leg  :D

Any Best known Technics to advertise the HUB
And Gather OPs to Make this a  Successful HUB...

Any suggestions ???  ?(

BoJlk

Guys From your personal experience!!

What to do and what NOT to do...?

be patient fundamentally, mine took 4 months to get 100+ users. having users in almost 60 hubs in your hub means that a lot of the users there are only there to leech. i'd rather have low users in mine and atleast know each user is as worthwhile as i can possibiliy make him/her myself.

advertising? you just need to ensure you're on the hub list. and you have terms you think other users will search for in the hub description, so they can find you. specific genres your hub caters to.

maybe run dcdm++, well configured will again help to ensure every user who does join is useful.

finding ops that are competant and aren't lazy is nearly impossible. it's almost always one or the other.

aslong as it's reliable, and in the hublist, i can't see why users wont come

Well you're not the First to tell me about the patience Part
And you Right about that

I've stated on my Hub Description [Music,Video,Games]
I think it's a lame statement for a HUB
there's a milion of those HUB...

And another thing as my HUB being Registered
on [dreamland.gotdns.org]

Most of the users, even the beginners will see the HUBs
registered on [http://www.hublist.org]!!!

You said it yourself, it's not specific enough, what type of music do you like? maybe gear it towards that? what type of people do you want there?

Yes you're in my dc++ client hublist, you've made a good start.

Most hublists get their addresses from other hublists... and one of the most popular ones atm (possibly even the "default hublist" in some clients) is //www.hublist.org. I guess that's why your users come from there.

I, too, think 60 hubs max is way too high, if you want to avoid leechers. Set it somewhere around 10 or 15, maybe. In my experience users connected to more than 10 hubs are leechers or search engines. And of course their upload rate sucks
Sharing is of the essence!

i thought the RoboCop chould deal with that?

Well i've stated [Music,Video,Games (RU,IL)]

but i can't state all the Share i have?
That could be too long for a Description

anyway i know what you mean...

Just didn't know the correct addresses!

Well, Gone to sleep...thank you all  :D

BTW isn't [vandel405.dynip.com] used for NeoModus Hubs Registration address?

Herodes

I got this one by KX200 on the other board ...

You can see those lines in the
\PtokaX-0.326.TestDrive4\error.log

bastya_elvtars

That should cause no trouble, as ptokax does not crash on a failed reg (its not yhub ;) )

So regging to 4 places is far enuf IMHO, the others are there for safety.
Everything could have been anything else and it would have just as much meaning.

To use:

RoboCop, Deflood,...

n1ck

Nicks Top Tip: Descriptions, make sure you have a good all round description covering as much as possibe, lots of people filter for hubs, and this is a best way of catching them from the bigger hubs!
dcuk.direct-connect.co.uk

**compiled bots are like what microsoft is to open source!**

BoJlk

How can they Filter?
There is all kind of HUB that request specific Share type
i mean only Music/DVD/Porno
i have the only requarement is country related issue.
only ppl from my counrty and my language speaking.
