u can still use the old web Files from older Ptokax's...just tested and it works

try this --> Ptokax Webfiles (http://ptokax.psycho-chihuahua.net/html.rar)

I always wondered why not make PHP files with access to PtokaX's DB? Would be a more elegant and flexible one IMHO.

Mutor, could u convert your hubstats script to Lua 5?

atm i only get an "onliune.lst" can't be found so userstats arn't correct - it always show 0 users in the hub ^^

PHP is under BSD license, so the source does not have to be re-released, so a php plugin for PtokaX which embeds MSSQL/SQLite support would be fine. :)

I enabled the webserver on port 8080 and i forward port 8080 in my router to my PtokaX server. But i can't connect to the webserver? My hub adress is gamergun.mine.nu:411 so the webserver adress need to be gamergun.mine.nu:8080 right? The hub is working perfect.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry for my bad English, i'm Dutch

can you connect to it by using 127.0.0.1:8080 ?
Title:
Post by: TommyGun on 18 May, 2005, 20:24:30
No.

192.168.2.100 is the network ip from my server. I also forwarded port 411 to 192.168.2.100 so everyone can join the hub and that works. But forwarding 8080 to 192.168.2.100 doesnt work?

I gave it a closer look and did the following with version 0.3.3.0.b17.07.

i created a html directory with the same files in it as provided by older ptokax version.

First i tested the webserver on port 80. And noticed that the port editbox is greyed out. ( i think this has a reason).

connected on 127.0.0.1 and the page was displayed.

closed ptokax.
then i changed the port number in the ini file to 8080
webserver still enabled.

and it didn't work on 127.0.0.1:8080.

But as i sayed earlier the box is greyed out where you normally fill in the port number. So it's not a bug or wrong port forwarding , the feature is just not there ;)

i guess this belongs in feature requests then...

I downloaded the zip in post #2 from this topic and i use the HTML folder in that zip. But the port box is not greyed out when you STOP the hub. I did that, changed the port number and started the hub. But i will change to 80 and check it :) Edit; changed and deleted the 8080 forwarding in my router but it still doesnt work :( What do i need to do?

Ah is seemed to have tested first with 17.07.

17.08 doesn't have the textbox flaw anymore.

Also i tried now on 8080 again and it worked too, i had a tomcat server running on 8080 earlier , i guess you can't run 2 servers on 1 port. ^.^

Also whould suggest the following:

Don't forward your ports
Test ptokax webserver on 127.0.0.1 (localhost)

if that works, then you know ptokax isn't the problem.

then try to forward a port
and test again with the outside address.

if that fails, then you are doing something wrong in your router. if that works congrat :)

17.08 or higher preferbly
Title:
Post by: TommyGun on 22 May, 2005, 21:36:04
Installed but still doesnt work.

Dessamator, how do you mean?

I got this:

PtokaX dir with:

html -> templates -> hubchat.html & hubstats.html
html -> webstats -> index.html & other layout files / images

As i sad, i got this from the ZIP file at post #2. Thanks in advance and for all te help here :)

I tried this also:

http://board.univ-angers.fr/thread.php?threadid=4002&boardid=26&styleid=1

But i saw this topic with the same problem:

http://board.univ-angers.fr/thread.php?threadid=4232&boardid=9&styleid=1&sid=279adfa179807846c5d2ca40223608ea

And Mutor says:

"to disable and then enable the WebServer on the oprions page. It seems sometimes the web server is not started at hub start."

I tried a couple times (disable / enable) and it works now on local host! Lets forward the port!

Edit; and it works now at other people too!

Thanks all! Thanks thanks thanks !

Only one question left:

The online members page, there is only one member called   [Admin]Mutor. I saw that this file is linking to members.html. But how can i let this work so i really see the online members?

At the mo the only script about for the webserver is Mutors pxstats   HERE (http://forum.ptokax.org/index.php?topic=4002.0) Which if you click links on his signature you can see a demo or click HERE (http://euro-op.no-ip.info:8080) to see my version

The provblem is that PPK would add a Lua-enabled webserver if it were built upon nonblocking sockets - i. e. if the webserver does something, the hub won't lag.
