Title: Off Campus Hub Help
Post by: Sport on 11 October, 2008, 02:26:02
We currently have a hub (using open dc hub) located OFF campus, but only allowing connections from on campus IP address. We are looking to change over to a windows platform with better/more up to date hub software. We already know what IPs ranges belong to the proper on campus residence halls. Each residence hall has its own single unique external IP address, and every resident in each building (~200 or more in some cases) are all NATd to the same external IP address. Currently with our setup, the hub see's everyone's external ip address only, but users on the hub see each other's internal IP only. I need to know if its possible for this hub software to accept so many (200-300) connections and search requests from the same IP address, and how to set up the proper spam settings to allow everyone a hitch free experience. Also, if this software is unable to do so, could someone point me in the right direction? If you need to know anything else, just let me know. Thanks for any help.

Max 256 UNREGISTERED users allowed from same ip and it's possible to turn off ip checking in commands (if you know what you are doing).
