Title: Add remove privs
Post by: Stravides on 09 January, 2005, 02:53:48
I have just had a crazy user run a script or some crap that added a multitude of users to my hub - dunno what happened just needless to say didnt want em there...
sooooo....

Whilst in a script.. Is there a way of temp granting a priv then removing it once script has run.. ie a regme command for general users...

user runs !regme email@addre.ss password

it starts up the script - changes his/her addreguser privs to yes - adds the user - removes the privs
closes.

???
Any Takers??

all I need is the priv ammendments - also I do not wish the individual to have to log off - and its per user, not per group ie not all guests, just a single user.

is the syntax

!regme

then its a security exploit in the script allowing it.

Nothing so efficient as Robocop its Smeagol :(  my cobbled together code.from the PHP mail example on this hub.

Yes Similar to that insofar as I get a user to type !regme email@ddress and it emails a password to that account

problem I am finding is in order to achiev ethis I have to give guest addnewuser privs

unfortunately I had some smart arse that decided to multicreate users ie F**KYOU1, F**KYOU2, .... F**KYOU99999

Was a pain in  the ass...

thanks for the posts thou.... getting clearer
