Yup it's cool man , keep the good work , i allready have esthetic game server on my hub . but just wondering , couldn't you put a timer on trivia ? i mean after a user is responding corectly trivia would say "Next Question in 15 Seconds" , and after 15 seconds or whatever timer you put in next question appears .
Also you could do for the question to be writen in colors for more perceptivness , coz users often don't see the question or the result when everybody is talking

install the library files for the gui
run the gui and set the bot up and the error should clear.

So all of this latest progress that u have implenended goes towards security - banning - floding is useless 4 me!
What happened to esthetic itself if i will upgrade to xstethic all this new options will only give me extra cpu usage.
Is there a chance to make u tell me what to edit to change command perfix from ! to - in xthetic?

The Whole security section of this bot it optional.
if you dont enable it, the script will by pass all the security code so no extra b/w or CPU is used.
i will add a user definable prefix on the next version.

you renamed the file m8......
the ! on the front is not just for esthetic reasons it makes the script sit at the top of the list..
scripts are executed from the bottom up and this script has to be last in line or it could block commands being sent to other scripts..
this wont fix your !lcon problem it is likely getting blocked by one of the other scripts.
remove each of the other scripts in turn to find the one causing the problem..

im not too sure on the executing order in other vers of ptokax..
but Ptokax0.330.b15.25.dbg executes them from the bottom up..

( for example, i use CB and would like regs and higher to have different commands then the self regs and admins/mods to be able use !country )...

yes the !country command does disable with the Security as it uses some of the security function.
i dont really want to mix the security command with the fun/esthetic commands as it will make the script heavier for everyone whos not using the security features.
im using Ms Sans Serif size 8 and all looks lined up correctly.
however as the score gets bigger it does take it over on to another tab so will look out of line ..
ill try to sort something out in later vers m8 to try centre the text no matter what size.
Sorry for not updating the language file but i will make it a priority.

Lining up strings of variable length into columns using a proportional font is almost impossible....

I need one additional function, please tell me if you can include it in the bot or another bot or to post request somewhere else. I need it to be compatible with your bot hovewer :)
Basically I need to bound users to their IP addresses. We use the DC hub for one internal network of a ISP so we all are with private IPs and fixed ones. The problem comes when I try to ban someone - he easily can change his IP address and nickname and get back, so I am thinking for a file where I can write nicknames and their main IP addresses (I know them from PtokaX user sessions logging) so when user connect and does not match the IP from the file to be disconnected.
Another variant is to register all current users with their IP as password and if is possible it to be supplied from their IP address when they connect automatically. So I will be able to restrict rights based on registered/unregistered status and this way the work needed for registration will be only on admin's side, user will not need to do anything (enter his password for the hub)
What you think about this?

If there changing their Nick and IP theres not much you can do to keep them out.
heres an option:-
Run the hub for registered users only and redirect all
None registered users to another hub running on a
different port, where they can PM you for registration
Details for the main hub.

I will consider that scenario but what you think about this one - we have fixed IP addreses, could'nt we use this to simplify work for registration -
I to register users with their IP address as password and script running at the server to automatically supply the password from connecting user's IP address.
This way no additional action from user's side will be needed.
It would'nt be easy task to talk with everyone of the current users of the hub what password they want and tell them where to enter it.

Hmm let me describe again the situation.
We are in internal network of one ISP. It is basically a big LAN. We all have private IPs (192.168.x.x) and when I say fixed I meand that we do not use DHCP Server but everyone have got one fixed IP. The connection to internet depend on second VPN conenction to our ISP server and do not depend on IP.
The problem is that everyone can easily change his IP in his network settings and our provider does not care much about this but anyway it is supposed to be one fixed IP per user.
Mine idea was to force users to obey that policy - they must use only their original IP address. Because of that I am thinking about variant of using their IP as password.
This way I will register new users with their IP. If someone is banned he will not be able to change his IP and get back.
Basically what I will achieve is same as forcing registration from administrators to be able to access the hub, but will make work more easyer on admin side - there will be no need to ask for desired password and telling the user how to enter it and on user side - there will be no additional action needed.

much lua scripting is "half-done" before being re-used to make the scripts that get distibuted with any licence (or for example with "ploppyrights" .. ;0)

The source code for the GUI has been available ( to any one that asked ) for quite a while now since it was first pointed out to me, and even freely given to ppl ive spoken to Whom i thaught it would help.
V3.00 is the only one that has had some sort of updated Readme and it contains the the credits and info regarding the GNU GPL for the GUI.

I didnt feel the need to update the GUI source because all that i changed was the Graphic option to none Graphic display of the Tick Boxes on the Client list.
so i felt there was no change to the code so no need to update.
Regarding the Lua script there is no code in it protected by the GNU GPL. and any new code is either my own OR with Permission from the Author of Said Code
The Main reason for Compiling is because There is NO WAY i could, Or even Want To Support an Open source script thet is well in Excess of 7100 Lines
it takes me enough time to debug my own errors Without having to debug everyone elses.

To Upgrade from 4.00/1/2 ----- 4.05b you can preserve all your logs and settings by following this Step By Step.
you will need this Log Converter Version. Download Here (http://www.hawks-world.com/Xsthetic-NetServer-Log-Converter.zip)
1. Copy ' Xsthetic/Save ' Folder Over to your Existing hub
2. Type !slogs in main chat and wait for the " All Logs Saved " message.
3. Replace The main .LUA script for the Log Converter Version.
4. Type !restartscripts in main chat , OR click the restart scripts button on the Ptokax Script Editor.
5. Type !slogs in your main chat.
6. Replace the Log Converter script with the NEW 4.05beta Script.
7. Type !restartscripts in main chat , OR click the restart scripts button on the Ptokax Script Editor.
If You did it correct you should have NO errors in the Ptokax Script Editor log
Certain Circumstances may cause the script to error on startup,
if there is errors then type !delvisits in your main chat and restart your hub.

Just an Info only Update:-

Done quite a lot of work on the GUI and the Main script getting them to talk to each other .
the GUI/Hublink connects to the main server hub first and gets the Bot name info so it can communicate in pm with the bot.
the GUI/Hublink now sends a list of Online hubs to the main Server hub,
the redirect addy of the main server hub is changed every min to each online hub in turn.
if any hubs go offline the Gui/Hublink sends the info to the main script which removes it from the online hubs list.. and sends online info as soon as it sees it online again.

I was unable to check it against verli hub as i dont have anyone on the test team running it ...
The New GUI works like this:-
As its now able to controll the redirect addy of the server hub it NEEDS to log in to the Server first.
Once its logged in to the server hub the hub sends its BOT name to the GUI and then the GUI and HUB communicate in pm sending Online and Offline info of all other Linked hubs.
the GUI will not connect to any of the other hubs untill it has established a stable connection with the hub set in list as the server.
The server HUB Has to be running this script.
Although you may choose for the GUI not to controll the redirects it still goes through the same logging in process.
if you need any more help OR could maby assist so i can get it connecting then pl give me a shout ..

Please check the Animalize table in the gui make sure all the lines follow this format:-

appart from the very last line Dosnt need a , on the end
eg.

First I would like to say that this is awesome Hawk and everything works without any error, but for some reason I can't seem to get my right click commands on DC++ 0.668. Other clients can get them except mine and a couple of other regular DC++ clients like 0.4034, but I'm set as Master and it still don't work. ?( can you help me out Hawk.
Forgot to mention running Ptokax 15.25 and using your latest Netserver 5.00c.

im lookin at the posibility of redoing it in c++
but i need a couple of weeks to learn enough of it to be able to make a start...
the VB GUI is ok but it requres library files to run..
which are included and installed during the script installation.
moving to c++ should eliminate the need for extra files ( hopefully ) so making the package a lot smaller.

please check all the table settings in the GUI things like the intro/outro messages, word placement.. etc etc..
it must in the same format as it is when installed..
Failing that just reinstall it again .. making sure your scripts folder is Empty first ..
and be more carefull when editing the Tables in the GUI
set your self as Master in the hub soft and Put your Exact nick in to the hub owner setting on the GUI.

it contained a ptokax folder inside another ptokax folder.

i do actually have the security on, it still wont work on wither hub i get same thing.
also, i run 2 hubs, both ptokax on same PC. i have no probs when running both hubs with channelbot or no security but bulit in. but when i use xsthetic or robocop or any other package there seems to be a conflict with scripts since they are installed now, it there a way for me to fix this???

sounds like you are getting some conflict between scripts ..
could you gaive more details on any other script/s you are running along side Xsthetic.
also try run the hub with Xsthetic only and see if it works for you .. if it does then it most definately is a script conflict.

Hi Hawk I only have 1 commnet on this script.
I have used it for a while now and it is stable and i have had not one problem with it... Its so easy to update and stops loads of spy's too. I have recommended it to every hub operator i know, and they too love it...
Maybe you could add a button on the script somehow to go to your website to make sure the server is up before we update, im not sure if this is possible..apart from that i have no comments except... ITS GREAT...

I did have this on the first generation
BUT the Problem with this Lies with your I.E Cache once you have clicked the button it is stored and so shows it online all the time..
i am lookin at some code to make it auto refresh the link .. so hopefully on the next GUI if the site is offline you will not be able to Click the Update button..

Yup more fun features are needed .. Chess maby a bit away yet ( imagine the coding behind all those Moves :P ).

on the Xsthetic hub link it shows both hubs connected
but only shows hublink in main hub and is not linking the hub
both are set as ops.
the second hub is YNhub i use for a private hub.

Make sure the other hub is not blocking Passive users.
i will change the Tag for the link when i bring out another GUI, From Passive to Active..
the ' Connected ' state on the Gui changes as soon as the Link sees the hub online and before the hub has done its Normal User checks on it .. so there is a chance that it may get booted out or blocked even though it says ' Connected '..
When the Gui is first run it will connect to the Server hub. if connection is sucessfull it will then try to connect to all other hubs in the list ..
this can take up to 2 mins as it retries every min..

oh and if i put the second hub on the server hub addy and not the linkd hubs, it connects right away.

This is already included in V6.00 Try Running The install again.
You can just install it to a Temp location then simply Delete all the files ( Do Not Uninstall ) this will leave all the library files intact and registered, and Not disturb your hub.

Hub Network and Mod Tag
Hi Hawk..I tried pming you but i'm sure your busy.I really like your script. Just a couple of things that I thought you should know about that i have noticed....maybe it's just me. On the hubs automated text files, when they are sent in main chat or even in pm they have a large space that is appended underneath them if you are only sending a small amount of text. Takes up the whole chat screen.
I am using robocop still only because in my hub I like the "MOD" tag being it is semi-private and members have to be registered by mods and masters only. Op is a trial period before graduating to Mod. Is there way to add a Mod tag without robocop>?
I would also like to set up a hub network and have never done so before. It seems pretty easy but what i don't understand is the bot password thing. Are linked hubs supposed to have a bot for this? How do you set up the network with this program? I'm sure it's really easy. Thanks all

the hub send Exactly what you put in them Boxes so if you have blank lines it will send them also ..
the only command that it isnt true for is the !cls wich first cleares the main chat then send the Advert ..
Regarding Profiles...
I am in the middle of changing the script to work with Profile Numbers only this way it should be compatible with all Profiles..
GUI/HUBLINK
You only need One instance of the link running to connect a network..
Set the Link Bot name and Password in the GUI and Register it as an OP in ALL the hubs using that user name and password .
The link first connects to the server hub. once connected it will then connect to all other hubs in the list.
use the Bot name filters to eliminate any Bot spam and the chat filters for stopping anything else you dont want to Spam in all hubs..
make sure that None of the Hubs are blocking Passive users cause the tag for the link is a passive tag ( changed to Active on the next GUI release ).

I was using robocop for the last month or so...but now have switched to Xsthetic net server v6 .. i am currently testin out this script and am very pleased about this script..its good witha lot many features all sewn toghther.. so u dont have to add more and more additional scripts for addin more entertaining scripts...
will give more detailed input after testing the script for some more time ..just used it 2 days now!!
PS:: You couls have chosen a A better name for the Script Sumthing lIke "TERMINATOR". I think would create a much more Sorta brand image for the script

well i been testin out the script for the last few days !
Jut updated to version 6.5 too..
When i turn Hub security on the server doesnt allow users to connect unless they have the netserver6 hub security default share(which is 2 gig or sumthing).. even tho i have put 10 mb and enabled in ptokax server
How do i fix this so i can use hub security as well as code my minim share limit .. a button for that would be good!

I am Bringin back full Hub setup by command again as a few have requested it. But only available to those Chosen few users you have set in the GUI.

I am currently using Xsthetic NetServer and quite frankly it is the business and Hawk does a great job with updating it.
I asked for certain additions and they are in the new version.

With security Enabled it uses the Standard Ptokax Profiles only..
i dont really want to introduce extra profiles and make every body change their ' profile.dat ' file..
if, in time there is enough requests for extra profiles i will look at maby adding some ..
but for now the profiles supported are

First you need to go through your Registered Userslist (in the Ops and Bans Tab Of the Ptokax GUI )
and set everyone to one of the standard profiles. ( as in my last post )..
then you need to close your hub..
Download this Standard Profiles.dat file (http://www.hawks-world.com/Profiles.dat)
Copy it to your hub folder ( over writing the old )
then restart hub...
It Cannot be done with the hub running..
Any probs get back to me here ill be arround for a while yet..

The time is taken from the computer clock ..
the only way to display a different time on the hub is to set your System clock..

few things i have recently noticed since my hub members count have increased. a bit..
+ dcdm clients having problems loggin iin
+ so does strong client
talked about that leaving msg geting spammed in main chat earlier.. it happened again today and i think it was beacuse one user was trying to log in with dcdm( most probably)
+ also can redirect address changing option be added to command line in main chat for ops
+ can we also get !showiplog command if possible
+ wishlist (hope it can use less memory)

Im adding more client support to it .. :)
the !redirect [addy] command will only be available to those users whose names are set in the GUI .
!userinfo [user] and !ipinfo [ip addy] commands will give you all you need for ip logging.
Both commands work for Past and Present Users.
Yes i could reduce the Memory usage ...
BUT for this you would LOOSE user logging, Trivia, Anagrams , Offline messages, Alarm Clock , Etc.. Etc.. Basicly you would loose all the features that makes this scrip what it is ..

Thanx for the reply hawk it is the way the nickname has been created seems to go through ok in a straight forward nickname in both upper and lower case but genertates the error if the nickname has been done in fancy writing thankyou once again...
Sorry again seemed to work twice then tried it again and the errors has re appeared and the messege and nickname i sent were in lower case just saying to contact me in the moring with no fancy writing at all....sorry to be a pain lol

Quite A number of you have Noticed your redirect addy changing to 192.168.0.1:411
this is because i forgot to set the " Enabled GUI controlled Redirects " to Off as default
you will find this button in the " Link Hubs " tab on the GUI.
Just Disable that Option and the redirect addy will remain Stable as you set it :)) :))
I am just doing some Last Min checks on the latest update. And it is Now running in a few Tester Hubs.
Hopefully i will have an Update for you All in the Next couple of days..

hmm very strange ..
i installed NMDC 2 and tried every config for Share, Tag, Hubs, Slots and everything Seemed to work As it should..
I know there is a Problem as ive seen the users with a Minus Share .. BUT not long enough to grab any info from them.
I will Keep Looking Any More info would be appreciated .. I.E their Reported ( scripted User Info ) and Share in the User list and Full strings as youve supplied there,,

But .. cann u pls tell me what the cmd bot setting is supposed to be doing in the GUI and what the command that u use for it in main or pm or hub?
Also When u change the profile settings in Ptokax like give an addiotional user privilege . I do restart But the user cant use some other command he is alowed too.. does it need to be synced somwhere else too?

so that we can get a list off all Nicks with ips in ine list itself just like in robocop i think..Iw ould be good to check for clones and copying and pasting for future reference.
And did i already request a Inbuilt releases bot !!!

Most command privilages are controlled by the script.
let me know what commands and what profiles you want to use them and maby ill update the script..

i got few suggestions
is it possing to do scripts like in 'channel bot':
"news" to be able to write news in the hub
"?wassup" shows that last 'n' line in the main chat.
"?stats" shows the status of who talking more, how maybe smiles how many characters.
IMPORANT: for hub security, the UPLOAD LIMITER control could help a lot , to block users who set upload limiter to 1or 3kb/s from getting into hub.

Unfortunately developement of the LUA 4 version will be BUG fixes Only...
Upgrading to the New Ptokax is dead easy to do
you can copy your registeredusers.dat file over to save you having to re-register all your peeps ..
. Install the New version of XN V8.02 to the scripts folder
. Close the GUI
. Then copy your OLD xstheic folder over the top of the new one letting it over write any files.
. Run the New GUI , Do a script Update, save and exit
. set Ptokax up with your Details remembering to set the Share , slots etc etc to 0 if using XN security.
