See this link please. Now we have 7245 users and we have peak of 9000-9500. Actually we use VerliHub because we use linux but in new mouth we change operative system in Windows and if ptokaX have max-limits of "only 8000".. we can't use this hubsoft. you can upgrade userlimit at 9000 or 10000? Thanks :)

Ptokax limit is 8000 now

Changed: Because I?ve found hub running PtokaX with 4000+ users (Athlon 64 3000+ with <20 % cpu usage) changed max user limit from 5000 to 8000.

Yeah is 8000.. sorry for my distraction :P. Post update ^^

-SkA-

Before asking for userlimit upgrade I can suggest you to have first 8000 users (with "c" version after 6000 users I'm noticing some strange lag...)

Give me good reason to upgrade userlimit... hub with 7000+ users with search interval in minutes on "slow" connection dropping data is not good reason  :P ;D

I'm sorry but if you have this opinion.. you never seeing hub with PtokaX and 10000+users. YnHUB have max userlimit at 15000 ^^

bastya_elvtars

He said if you limit search intervals (to more than 60-80 secs) and drop slow users then no need to upgrade.
Everything could have been anything else and it would have just as much meaning.

PtokaX is Direct Connect Hub, and Direct Connect is p2p network not only online chat (like all hubs with more than 8000 users are) :P

And  ??? For what is userlimit 15000 if nobody is able to run hub with too much users more than few hours  ;D

Yes this is correct. Sure, I know.. An hub with more 10000+ users isn't good because you cannot search and things like this.. But most people the want hubs with 11000+-12000+, not thinking about the negativity of that.. and these people don't use ptokax because the limit is of 8000 users... Can you change it from 8000 to 12000 users? it's only a small modify :P

-SkA-

It would be more usefull if PPK increase "max login variable"...500 is too low for me :(

Now is on hublist.org only 15 hubs with more than 8000 users... who care about few maniacs  :P

PPK you should disallow search interval over 200 or so. People need to learn balancing between usercount and overall usability of the hub.

I agree 100%. Infact I'd personally disallow over 90secs, these hubs are bad for the DC community because they're not actually good for finding files. I get frustrated with search intervals over 30 secs, I'll always allow two searches every 10 secs in my hub. Quality over quantity.

DC hubs are about filesharing, not aboout collecting peers that can do nothing. :)

When i disallow long search interval then they use script for same thing without limit  :'(

Cool, then make a checkbox to disallow search in PtokaX itself, and remove the possibility to block $Search in lua by returning 1. :)

Removing any feature currently available to change in Lua would not be a good thing

This just popped into my mind, should not be taken serious. ;)

Fair enough. I'd only just gotten in from work when I got in and saw the comment
