area you trying to get in via a no-ip account or something ?

tell us a bit more, can others see your machine ?
can you connect as localhost ?

also are you using your external ip or internal ip ?

link seems to be dead.
can?t connect!

Use an internal IP when connecting through a LAN. You can be in active mode if you open up another port for DC++ (or whatever client you use) and set your active ip to be your external IP.

he won't need it to enter his own hub! :)

he'll need it so that others can :) if ip changes... and also if he is accessing externally (as i do to check its running)

That solves his getting intothe hub, but not the reason why it doesnt work... I am behind a router and I had the initial problems that thiis user is experiencing... I got the sw and that fixed it :)

tell ya what ... as I think that there are a million and one things that I would prefer to be doing right now instead of carrying on like this unhelpful manner... namely setting my balls on fire and getting the flames put out with a sledgehammer..  but thats just a fetish of mine hehehe

I'm gonna let you all sort this out...

he he, and i said localhost a couple of times! which is almost the same as 127.0.0.1 which refers to your external IP, which means, if the external one chnages then he will be able to enter with 127.0.0.1 or localhost ;)

hi guys,

sorry, had to go last night!
i still can?t get into my hub.
everybodyelse does but not me.
don?t know why...  ?(
i forwarded the ports for ptokax and dc, tryed to put the internal as well the external ip into dc... But nothing.

NotRabidWombat

Ok. I wasn't clear. Use the internal IP in the manual connect through public hubs window.  Use the external IP as your active IP. It works.

Erm, you were assuming that the Client computer and hub computer were the same. If he's behind a router, they probably aren't.

So, i would say, 50/50 on that matter.

are you joking? replacing linksys with netgear??? 8o

why not just go buy the latest linksys, affordable, and ACE for protecting....works fine with practically everything....if u got a bit extra to spend u cud always go for cisco, altho linksys is part of cisco anyways ;)
