Title: oDC 5.31 Crashes with runtime error after change to ptokax and robocop
Post by: bluebear on 09 June, 2004, 22:07:23
Hey folks..

i have run ptokax hub software for some while.
lately i changed the fron ice guard to robocop.

After that change ppls useing odc 5.31 expieriece that the client crashes very often. It's just quits with a runtime error. The funny thing is that all oDC clients connected to my hub crashes simultanious :/

Anyone know how i resolve this problem?

Thx in advance :)

I will try to get some more information..

oDC comes with a runtime error but no error no. is included, it only says program exception.
It do not matter how ppls are useing oDC's functions.
I did put up a test by havein a oDC connected..
They all just crash simultanious..

Would it be helpfull if I setup a packet sniffer? that way i can record data going to and from a few oDC clients.. And then locate the data there was send at the moment of the crash..

Now i've discovered that the oDC user often crashes when i use the +talk... eg. +talk <-- Banner Ad -->

Maybe it can't handle a "user" post to main while not in userlist..

I'll test it..

yep thats a bug on oDC, comes from a certain ascii character.
send it 2 the chat and all oDC clients crash.

Stupid ascii characters they always mess up also with banners and other stuff.
