Title: DCDM++
Post by: AlwaysConected on 24 June, 2004, 08:24:53
*** DCDM++ 0.003 ***
Added all the columns to user list from DC++k CDM.
Added Get user responses and Report (only available to OPs)
Partial implementation of client profiles in place. You can use Name, Tag, Extended tag, Lock and Pk.
Removed tag faking and client emulation options.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
*** DCDM++ 0.008 22:39 08/03/2004 ***
Now using PCRE/PME regular expressions. Big thanks to AtomicJo for the help with this.
Client profiles now remember there order between sessions.
Added TestSUR you can now use this in client profiles along with supports (supports are bit buggy).
Added %[version] in tags. e.g. ^<(This version number will be displayed in user list.
Beware background scanning is very unstable. May work ok in very small hubs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
*** DCDM++ 0.009 00:43 09/03/2004 ***
Fixed bugs with settings.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
*** DCDM++ 0.013 00:16 14/03/2004 ***
Based on BCDC++ 0.307.
Added %[version2]. You can use this in description. eg. for oDC.
Added a checkbox next to description to specify if you want %[version2] to be used in the client column.
Added "Check version mis-match" to client profiles (compares tag/pk versions).
Added version checking to profiles eg. ^(0.304|0.305|0.306|0.3065|0.307)$
Added /addclient name;version;tag;description;lock;pk;supports;testsur. Adds a client profile.
Added a "Add line" text box to client profiles to allow people to easily copy/paste client profiles to each other (use /addclient)
Added a column in userlist for $UserIP (requires hub support)
Background scanning dosn't use TestSUR anymore. Should be more stable but will not do client checking (you need to do that manually)
Hopefully fixed a few stabilty bugs ( but don't count on it :p )
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
*** DCDM++ 0.017 23:35 21/03/2004 ***
Fixed a bug with UserIP column showing search result IPs.
Fixed a bug with importing 0.306 queues. Thanks FarCry.
Added Status and User connection commands to client profiles, not tested but should work ;-).
Hopefully fixed bugs with updating userlist after client checking.
Added raw commands to fav hub properties. You can use these in client profiles. Available params: %[mynick], %[nick], %[ip], %[userip], %[tag], %[clienttype].
Added an option in fav hub properties to send $UserIP for all users. Requires hub support... Should work fine with YHub, I've included a lua hub script to enable it on PtokaX (thanks plop and toen for help with this).
Added detection of BCDC++ 0.307 nick spoofing. You should get a warning in main chat when someone tries to connect to you. Requires $UserIP support (experimental).
And probably some other stuff (bugs and features) that I've forgotten to mention :p
------------------------------------------------------------------------
*** DCDM++ 0.021 21:15 04/04/2004 ***
Added most of the fake share detection from DC++k CDM.
Client profiles and fake shares now get there own .xml file (your old profiles should load but back them up just in case).
Added customizeable cheating descriptions to client profiles.
Added more params to client and fake share raw commands: %[statedshare], %[statedshareformat], %[realshare], %[realshareformat], %[filesshared], %[cheatingdescription]/%[cd] & %[clientinfo].
Bandwidth limiting is now ratio based. The ratio is shown in the tag e.g. R:2 means a 2:1 down/up ratio.
Added "Debug commands" and "Debug detection" to Settings > DCDM++.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
*** DCDM++ 0.024 19:42 03/06/2004 ***
Hopefully fixed lua crashes.
Fixed disappearing client profiles.
Added a reload client profiles button.
Included R200s latest client profiles.
Added OpChat commands. Type +help in OpChat to see them.
Made it harder for stupid people to hex edit the tag.
Added ADL search for forbidden files.
Added small file checking.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
*** DCDM++ 0.026 20:22 11/06/2004 ***
Added continuous filelist checking.
Added a user configurable pause before starting checks on new users.
Added time stamps for TestSUR and filelist check to report aswell as the time the user logged in.
Added more user list colours.
Changed the format of Profiles.xml. Should make winmerging easier. Backwards compatible with old profiles.
Added new kick dialog showing last 20 kicks. You can also use %[kickline] in user commands. Thanks Sulan.
Maybe fixed a crash in ConnectionManager::onMyNick
Added option for maximum number of filelist downloads.
Maybe reduced the chances of RltEnterCriticalSection crashes.
Disabled small file checking for .xml filelist because I can't get it to work :@
Fixed deleting of small files.
Added "Check clients" and "Check file lists" options to favourite hub properties.
Added MyINFO spam detection. Theres option to define the counter and trigger.
eg. if you the counter to 5 and the trigger to 1000, anyone sending more than 5 MyINFOs less than a second apart will trigger it.
You can either kick or by notified (or both).
This is an experimental feature. Might keep it in, might not :p
Added an update button to the clients page. It downloads and reloads a profile from the URL you specify. I've set the default URL to R200s site (hope he don't mind) but i'll try and keep my site updated as well.
Added new version notification. You can also see the latest profiles version available in Help > About DC++.
Added some colours to the text in user list for checked and cheating users (used some code from iDC++ for this). Anyone with a cheating description is considered a cheat. There's also a page for editing the colours.
Added continuous checking. The commands are /sc or /startchecking and /stop or /stopchecking. /sc and /startchecking act as a toogle.
There's an option to set the maximum amount of client checks (default 20). OPs and favourite users are not checked although it does check new users very quickly so it might check (and kick!) OPs logging in that are not yet added to the OP list.
Added an option to only show joins/parts for favourite users (show joins/parts also needs to be selected).
Added ListLen support although it does no checks against it. $GetListLen is sent with a client check not filelist like DC++k CDM (Thanks AluM).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
*** DCDM++ 0.027 15:25 19/06/2004 ***
Added an ISP page. Enter ranges in this format xx.xx.xx.xx-xx.xx.xx.xx The first IP must be lower than the second.
Added a column for ISP in user list.
Added hublist.org user search and ripe Whois lookup from userlist.
Added some more detection of CZDC++/BCDC++ based clients. It's not integrated into the profiles yet so theres some options for it in DCDM++/Settings.
Added "Get user responses 2". This checks for CZDC++/BCDC++ based mods, basically if this timeouts 4 times then it's considered not DC++. Bad connections could give false results. If you can get a connection first time for normal Get user responses but always timeout for Get user responses 2 then it's probably not DC++.
Fixed a Runtime error with DC++ clients that gave no slots for filelist (thanks Honda for the report).
You can now use %[clienttype] etc in user commands.

* Added user list filter from oDC.
* Kicks for MyINFO spam only sent if OP. Thanks R200 for the report.
* Added %[nl] for new lines in raw/user commands. Thanks Sulan.
* Added ISP conflict checking when loading ISPs from .xml. Should be useful for checking conflicts on manually edited ISPs.xml files, see conflicts.txt. (not tested much)
* Added ISP update button (defaults to Sulans site).
* Updated PCRE/PME libraries.
* Fixed so that line numbers and paths are displayed in exceptioninfo.txt.
* Enabled custom forbidden file raw commands.
* Added %[file] for forbidden files.
* Added /favrefresh. Refreshes all your raw commands etc from fav hub properties without having to reconnect.
* DCDM++ version number now shown in exceptioninfo.txt.
* Should be more stable (no crashes here for a few days).
* Check clients set to true by default.
* Added a "Next" button in the client profile dialog.
This should help people when upgrading to new client profiles.
Maybe a bit buggy, might do strange things if you move client profiles about and then hit Change > Next
Ohh, and i dunno what'll happen if you click Add > next... (backup your Profiles.xml before using this!! seems to work ok tho)
* Added protected users. These users will never be auto checked and never get raw commands auto sent for them.
Uses regular expressions eg. ^\[VIP\].* for a case sensitve [VIP] prefix or ^\[[Vv][Ii][Pp]\].* for case insensitive.
Of course you can just enter single nicks as well but remeber you may need to escape some characters like '[' for example.
Check out http://www.regexlib.com/RETester.aspx to test your regexp's :p
* Added option to client check all users before checking filelists.
* Added a ten second pause between TestSUR and filelist check when using /sc. Should prevent a lot users showing 'disconnected' for TestSUR.

* Another fix for /sc showing 'disconnected' for TestSUR (this one seems to work...)
* Added customisable clipboard buttons to client profiles.
* Should be a bit more stable for people who have big download queues.
* Fixed removing of offline testsurs and filelists from queue.
* Added tool tips in user list.
* Fixed scrolling and next button bugs in Clients page.
* Fixed ADL search folders counting towards total real share.
* Priority and raw command windows disabled unless forbidden is checked in ADL search properties.
* Right click on a hub in search frame now deselects all other hubs. Right click on empty space deselects all hubs.
* Added Tag slots column in search frame so that you can compare search results slots to tag slots.
* Slot mis-match in search frame gets "Bad client" colour.
* Added cross hub IP checking from DC++k CDM.
* Added multi hub kick.

"guideDCDM++ help guide

that's more for dc++ k though. a dcdm++ guide would be great.

* Tool tips in user list now displayed in the order you have your columns set.
* Moved some of the settings to a new page.
* Added lots of options for raw commands in Detector page.
* Fixed sorting of tag slots in search frame (well it should be numerical, but i'll do that later). Thanks R2.
* Added option to choose user list icons (DC++, oDC, CZDC++).
* Added detection of users who state active mode in tag but are using passive commands (fake tag).
* Added option to hide DCDM tag (always shown when not OP).
* Disconnects and timeouts now shown in report.
* Renamed clipboard page to "Texts".
* Added customisable raw command names. So instead of having "Raw 1", "Raw 2" etc you can have "Kick", "Ban" etc.
These names will appear in fav hub properties and all raw command dropdown menus.
* Added an extra 5 raw commands to fav hub properties.
* Changed the raw command buttons in Client profile dialog to a drop down combobox.
* Hopefully fixed bug with downloading filelists using users own nick.
* Added reconnection attempt if download reaches 0 B/s.

I appreciate deeply the fast Development of this Client AlwaysConnected ... really bril stuff, Bravo!

I'd like to point out though that while rapid development is taking place and features are moving, changing, added ,
the task of making a Guide for it is becoming .very. hard to follow.
It is essentially like a moving target ...
This does NOT mean that u need to slow down !!! :D:D:D:D
Progress like that is only good to hear and brings a big smile on all of us I suppose ...
Keep it up and I'd like to see it grow in the best thing after BCDC++ Lol :D ...
( Just kidding 'bout bcdc++, SendToAll("Herodes", "no offense "))

BTW I have taken the freedom to rip the DC++k CDM Guide page and
I have a layout to propose that honours the client and the Guide,
the present .htm is somehow a bit "rainbow theme" aka "eye strainer" ...
Meanwhile, take a look in this freeware (http://www.hexagora.com/en_home.asp) ... really cool (begginers) stuff...

Nice little guide :]
Some kind of text in DCDM that explains more about all clients in the clientdetection (i'm shure there are many that dont know everyting about all clients in dcdm),
so all have a chance to make the right decision if clients gonna be allowed or not in the hub..

Sorry for my bad spelling
Have a good day to all of you :D

*** DCDM++ 0.031 00:46 13/07/2004 ***

* Fixed crash in ADL search caused by raw commands larger than 256 chars (thanks MTW).
* Added connection and comment fields to client profiles.
* Comment now shown in Clients page list view instead of version.
* Grouped Grant slot and client checking in user list.
* Added total clients detected and total raw commands sent to Help > About DC++.
* Added /dcdm++ (well it was always there but now it does something else :p).
* Fix for clients getting detected as untagged due to not being properly logged in.
* Templetized GETSETREF from DC++ 0.402 (thanks R2).
* Updating client profiles from http now keeps your old cheating descriptions and raw commands provided the name is the same.
This might not work too well until R200 updates his profiles, so don't rely on it just yet .
* Duplicate profile names no longer allowed from the GUI.
* CDM debug messages now scroll.
* Fix for /sc stalling if queue is already full.
* Added info tips to Clients page.
* Added right click to Clients page to change raw command and cheating description.
* Added RexExp option to ADL search. A RegExp entry in ADLS will roughly take twice as long as a normal one.
* Fixed a few bugs with user list filter (that means i used fulDC's instead :p)
* Added RegExp tester to client profiles dialog. (Thanks Sulan for the idea).
* Added a few greets to About > DC++. Sorry if i forgot anyone .
------------------------------------------------------------------------
*** DCDM++ 0.032 09:46 18/07/2004 ***

* Fixed IP always showing in settings.
* Updated some lua stuff from BCDC++ 0.403 (note: new scripts and they now go in seperate folder).
* Added XML filelist generator to report.
* Fixed so that invalid regexps in client profiles shouldn't cause DCDM++ to crash.
* Made a start on making client detection info available to LUA.
Every time a client is detected a report is sent which can be caught in nmdch.ClientInfo in startup.lua.
* Fixed so that all raw commands are refreshed with /favrefresh.
* % shouldn't need to be double escaped in client profiles anymore.
* RegExp tester now works properly with %[version] and tells you if your RegExp is invalid.
* Extra settings for ListLen = 11 and version mismatch.
* Added some more columns to ADL Search frame and forbidden entries get bad filelist colour.
* Double click on items in clients page opens profile editor and clients with cheating description get bad client colour in the list (iDC++).
* Added RegExp tester to ADL Search properties.
* Display cheats in main chat option added.
* Search results no longer sorted by filename as default.
* Added "Start checking on connect" option to fav hub properties.

I do have to agree with Mutor.
You guys are doing a superb job. Running a public hub would be a nightmare if it wasnt for this client.

Thanks :)

Well done people.

Good work on the guide A.C.
I do have a suggestion tho, same pet peeve I had with
the DC++k guide. Suggest you use completed fields in
your screenshots. I dont forsee noobs setting up such
a client properly. I think examples would help.

There is no finer Op client.

Get it up, keep it up !!

P.S. 0.032 seems rock solid so far.
what more screens you want ?
i missed that part ;(
give me an example please ;)

Event_Horizon: I think that this is one for the client's forum (http://www.imperialnet.org/forum/index.php) ...

AC: I think what Mutor means is that it would be nice to have the screenshots on the guide with the fields, if any, completed ...

Like for example the Logs and Sounds screenshoot ...

also it would be nice of some one spend an hour to set it up.
This way the Guide could provide some .xml's to download and put in the DCDM's folder. Just to give it a push for the newbies and a jumpstart for any advanced user ...

i try to make in the guide several pics hows it could be done when its 100% ;)

Mutor your protected users will probably not work as expected.

They use regular expressions which means you need to escape '[' & ']' with a \

[Admin]Blackfox should be   \[Admin\]Blackfox

Even better would be ^\[Admin\]Blackfox$ (^ means start of string $ means end of string)

See this (http://www.textartisan.com/articles/regex.html)  for a simple guide to RegExp. Also use the regexp tester in DCDM++ (found in ADL search properties or the client profile editor) to test your RegExp o make sure there working as you expect

'Bout the xmls : they could be done unusable ... say give them a favhub.xml that will contain

Hub Address: MyHub.no-ip.org
UserName : IAmUserOfDCDM++
Password : whatEverest

And maybe a ADLSearch.xml with some 3 or four entries showing examples of .different adlsearch tool configurations ...

With some it would complicate things and with some others it would make them really understand ...

This is what a call a middle situation ... showing them the fish in the basket .. :)

if some one has an ADLsearch.xml

* Added a show unresponded users feature to search frame.
Hit "show unresponded" then search for "." and find out who's not responding to searches
Of course there's a a number of reasons people wouldn't (legitimately) respond to searches, but it might just be DC++ Stealth
Works better in small hubs. Make sure you download there list and search for individual files to make sure.
* Removed CDM checks from transfer view and search view because they don't work anyway (yeh i know, i should really make it so they do work...).
* Added some more columns to search spy for IP and port.
* Added search port to report.
* /switch switches between horizontal/vertical view in Hub Frame. Had to hack WTL to get it to work (included in src).
* Removed background hub scanning.
* Added copy menu to directory listing frame.
* A few lua fixes from BCDC++ SVN (new scripts)
* Moved report into main menu
* Tag slots column in search frame now sorts numerically.
* Added option to automatically delete checked file lists.
* OPs and fav users are now considered "protected" ie. no raw commands auto sent for them.
* Added column in Clients Page for raw command (thanks Sulan for the code + thanks to me for making it a bit more efficient  ).
* Added processor speed and memory usage to /dcdm++.
* Added red DC++ icon from Gadgets DC++ mod.
* Entries in ADL search frame now only coloured if active as well as forbidden.
* Added a clean user option to userlist.
* Fixed so that normal get file list dosn't try and do any checks.

Title: SERIOUS BUG
Post by: Vector on 05 August, 2004, 16:29:14
Hi peeps on testing lastest DCDM0.033 on windows 2000 server their are these bugs.

---------------------------

on configuring the client everything is fine from the settings menu untill i get to the DCDM++ drop down menu.

Bandwith limiting section can be configured as well as 'Detector' and "Texts"

Heres where the probs start, on trying to configure 'Clients' 'Fake shares' Colours' 'Isp'

When clicking on the drop down menus they dont work, you see a fraction of a milimetre of a drop down box atempting to drop down.

So for instance in 'Fake shares' when you click on the Action drop down box it will not work, you see it atempt to move and it doesnt, same for all the drop down boxes mentioned in 'Clients' 'Fake shares' 'Colours' 'Isp'
All others seem to work fine.

I was hoping to have this installed today :(

Any thoughts?

PS. tryed same client on windows XP and it works but thier are many reasons that client runs on the windows 2000 server machine, that i dont want to bring into the scope of my bug report.

Also the server has SP4 installed and is bug free and a rock solid stable server, with all installed updates.
And maybe but dont quote me on this but it may effect all OS in the win2k family. (pro, server. advanced, datacenter)

Thanks guys

* Added a winamp button to the toolbar. Sure it won't catch fakers
* Added logging of raw commands. You can use %[cd], %[clienttype], etc. and %[raw] (rawCommands.log).
* Added logging of kicks (kicks.log).
* New icons (thanks Dashes).
* Report now shows how many files are hashed
* Added a Check TTH option to Directory Listing frame. Compares the TTH to that of a fake generated file.
* Fixed so that you can have longer OpChat names.

WRONG!!!

The default colours are maybe badly choosen, but you can edit them ;)

QuoteNOTE: put in the Lua 5 Library command colors to ( find, sub, len ... )

I kinda stole the library words from the lua syntax file in EditPlus2 which i believe is based on lua 4. if someone wants to provide a full list of lua (5) library words that should be coloured i'll gladly add it :)
Here's the what the current one looks like:

string ScriptEditorFrame::libraryWords[] = { "_ALERT","_ERRORMESSAGE","_INPUT","_OUTPUT","_STDERR","_STDIN","_STDOUT","_VERSION","abs",

have u tried this one ?

Yess i have read that guide Herodes, ive printed it out and read it about 3-4 times....

I'm not a newbie, but sure feel like one right now ;(

I cant get the +help in OpChat to work.. yes the OpChat nick is put in the opt in faw hub.
The DCDM found a "DC++ Stealth" client, all settings for that client were set to Raw1, the raw 1 in fav hub was set to kick, but DCDM didnt kick him anyway.

If i set Raw1 in the hub fav settings to kick, and in "Clients" that DC++ Stealt should use "Action - Raw1", do i still have to set something in the "Detector" tab at the "Raw command" field ???

The "Texts" tab isnt explained at all in the dcdm++ guide
I have a lot of this setting that i dont understand and that are not explained in the dcdm++ guide

It would be a LOT more easy if there would have been some samples settings in the clients

Sorry to bother u all with theese simple newbies quest

1'rst ...Pls Dont think im complaining about ur exelent work.

I did all the things you said to get +help to work, but still dosnt work - ive puted the nick of the op chat (OpChat) in hub fav settings, restarted DCDM, Pm'd OpChat,,, nothing

I did a clean install of DCDM and the above again,,, nothing

Its f.ex the 10.7 in "Detector (http://dialspace.dial.pipex.com/prod/dialspace/town/pipexdsl/s/asmr89/guide/10.htm) " tab that isnt explained (sorry ur link didnt work ;)

And as i said in the last post i tried to make DCDM to autokick a Stealt client it found but i didnt make it.

And i wount give up i shall (with ur help) make this work :))

Wel i guess i must be bad to explain :))

in my Settings:
 -> DCDM++ -> Clients -DC++ Stealth 1 to Stealt 4,
the action is set to Raw1

Raw 1 in the hub faw is set to :
$To: %[mynick] From: %[mynick] $<%[mynick]> <%[nick]> ----> %[clienttype] - %[cheatingdescription]|

I waited and waited and the client still didnt kick
All the "Raw commands" in 10.7 is default (=No action).

And Mutor, if i get a listLen error what does it means?
When u say "File lengt" do u mean some of the settings. "file list to small" or "File list to big" as i cant find any settings talking about "File length"

Tnx guys for trying

And i must tell u that 99% of the users in our hub is proper users so i must be 110% sure that the DCDM is making the right decision :))

its not +help ....its  /help ...you should get this

*** (BCDC++) /winamp, /mplayerc, /showqueue, /clearqueue, /upload , /download , /lua , /luafile

* Fixed colouring of '\"' within quotes in script editor.
* Added operator colouring to script editor.
* Script filename now shown title bar in script editor frame (thanks Sulan).
* You can now use %[speed] in user commands. From the transfer menu this use the current speed, anywhere else it uses the speed in userlist.
* Script name now shown in a status bar along with current/total line number.
* Made a ClientProfileManager. Should be a bit more efficient than just sticking it in HubManager (maybe a few bugs).
* Added an option to define custom keywords etc.
* XML files now stored in a seperate folder (Note: HashData.dat goes in the same folder).
* Added a bad ISP option. Bad ranges will get the raw command specified in detector page sent (made a few changes to the ISP code for this so it may work better/worse icon_wink.gif. lemme know).
* Added option to check for conflicting ranges on loading ISPs. Set to false by default.

* Added option not to strip ISP tags by default when tab completing nicks (thanks Spargatoru for the suggestion).
* Fixed UserIP bug.
* Hopefully prevent crashes with failed ISP updates.
* Added Winamp and MPlayer Classic formatting options
* Added option to specify winamp location.
* Updated LUA (BCDC++ SVN 517).
* Fixed delayed closing of hubs that are checking.
* Added option to specify the sleep time between checking. This is the time each hub waits between checking each client.
If your checking multiple hubs it may increase stability and decrease the chances of timeouts if you raise this value.

Hi AC
what you have just suggested does not work for me.
I have been posting this thread on the dcdm forum.
this thread (http://www.imperialnet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1203)

as i can get the users list but nothing in main chat.
ive uninstalled and reinstalled, tried different things in formatting lua txt, but still no different.
I always use blue background with white txt which i find easier on my eyes.

* Added comment to ADL Search (thanks Sulan, sorry it took so long :p).
* Doubled the allowed length of keywords.
* Added %[...] params for client detection regexp (thanks Sulan for the idea and some of the code).
* Added customisable params. eg. to use % for slots. Stored in Profiles.xml.
* Dropped support for old client profiles.
* Added a list view control to script editor showing all available scripts.
* Removed Open/Save/Reload buttons from script editor (it's all done from right click menu and a toolbar now).
* Browse file dialog is no longer used for scripts so reloading should now work better.
* Added background image to mainframe. You can use any image you like but i've included a nice image from the hubble space telescope :)
Credits: European Space Agency (http://www.spacetelescope.org/).
* Changed ISP checking code a bit.

Its working fine so far.

Now i quess you all would like to know what the problem was with the last 2 versions for me.
now promise you will not SLAP me with a wet fish.  :)

the problem is, if i pinned the icon shortcut to startup bar, i got no txt in mainchat.
but when i sent icon shortcut to desktop, it works fine.
so that was it.

most of my client programmes are not kept on main drive, they are kept in a secondary drive.

So, If anyone else is experiancing same sort off prob, dont pin icon to start up bar, send to desktop instead off.
Thanks Again All  :))

Hi bastya_elvtars

lets begin lol
in the dcdm folder you have a icon that starts the dcdm,
if i pinned this to startup menu i got no txt in mainchat,
but, if i created a shortcut to my desktop, it works perfectly,

so my question was.
is there a problem with the round icon in dcdm, or
is it windows xp caused the problem.
as the round icon starts the programme.
thats the only way i can explain it  :D
Title:

do not copy the exe file to startup folder.
create a link to desktop, and put that link into startup folder.
If it does not work: hmmm... :)

That Zonealarm corrupts up and downloads with all dc programs is well known thats because it intercepts some packages that dc needs.
Just use sygate instead its also for free and has no known problems with dc.

i have tested sygate with dc, soulseek, and other p2p.. np alltimes

and people still has problems connecting to me when I'm using dcdm.. but they connect in notime when I have another client..
but I really don't want another client :P

hehe now that I had the will to read it it did make som sense :P..
so if my crippled head understood this right it should look something like this " ^\Badger$ ^\-DUMP-1-$ "
? :)
I didn't find a "command" for the "-" so i guess i dont need "\" infront of each of them?

I have tested it now.. and it works flawless.. :)..
but their is still this connection problem with the client (only occurs from time to time).. guess I'll have to try my luck in that other forum then..

Title:
Post by: Typhoon on 31 December, 2004, 00:35:32
that depends on how bad the limit is ;o) ..

i only have a 512kb upload so my limit is set too 45 , then i still have the possibility to surf the net without lagging (thx for adsl ) ...
too high upload kills my download , so a small limit there and all are happy :o)

you need upload. for browsing you DO upload as well

you send requests etc.

limit is needed with half duplex... ok first install qos packet scheduler and cfosspeed but still...

and policy like yours made netlimiter spread. so if you are being chased by a motorcycle, do not jump under a train.

think this over, this is not malignancy, but a compie runs other things beside dc++ too...

Title:
Post by: imby on 02 January, 2005, 07:07:28
Well either way, people can find a way to abuse limiting whether you allow the clients or not. So i'd rather not condone the use of these clients and i gather that 90% of users will see no need to limit ridiculously low in order to cheat. I'm sure that percentage would be pretty much the same whether they did it with the clients or hidden externally so i don't suppose it matters. It's not like these clients solve any problems: I gather a lot of people with these clients and a connection something like 512/256 limit to 128 Kbit upload BECAUSE THEY CAN which isn't fair either, it should be 85% of your upload speed.
Title:
Post by: n1ck on 02 January, 2005, 23:07:48
I agree - the 'average' user picks up his info on clients from other users, and if he see's people being kicked for 'netlimiter' or 'bcdc/czdc client, he wont bother using them!

B/W limiting  shouldnt be such an issue

employ good ops to periodicly check uses and  disconnect them if there speed is an unacceptable level.

and  BLOCK  all  clients that have the option to limit undetected.
and block Scripted clients from None Ops.

one thing that does bother me, is that the dc++ and bcdc++ changelogs are removed from both the source and binary dcdm++ packages.
that's (1) not nice, (2) not in the open source spirit (perhaps even a license violation) and (3) annoying if you want to see which versions dcdm++ is based on (and which features it has/lacks)

if someone could poke psf or whoever is in charge of the dcdm++ development to fix this, it'd be nice.
Title:
Post by: Pothead on 26 March, 2005, 14:01:01
oops, my bad.  They should be in the source ?( I completely forgot about the Binary. Added. Thanks. :)

***edit, just checked, the DC++ was in the source, but no sign of BCDC. Do you know which version of this DCDM was based  on.  plus, not my bad, hehe, they weren't in any of the other releases either ?( (PSG8500 disappeared to do university work, so some of us are bug fixing it / extending it. :) )

afaik, dcdm++ is based on a certain bcdc++ version, so all those features should be integrated, unless they are removed:

a quick glance through this dcdm++ version shows me:
- bandwidth limiting
- isp stripping on tab completion
- /winamp/mplayer etc support
- small files size selection
- underline as bold font
- all of LUA support

[EDIT]
ah, you beat me to it :)

Hi,

I'm I wrong if I say that the /showqueue is not working @ DCDM++ ? It works on BCDC++

[15:04:07] *** (BCDC++) /winamp, /mplayerc, /showqueue, /clearqueue, /upload , /download , /lua , /luafile , /ignore , /unignore , /listignore, /ipinfo , /raw , /me
Or is it something I have to "activate" ?(

Showqueue is a remnant of the upload queue if i'm not mistaken
Title:
Post by: Pothead on 26 March, 2005, 21:57:02
np Sedules, i just wish i could added them to the ones on psg's site as well.

Quattro:
Pressing on a window button again if it's opened will close it.
I've seen this in R2 and i do like it. :)
Another nice one in R2, is closing the window when you click the middle button, on one of the tabs. (hehe, as R2 freely admits to copy pasting, like me, i assume these came from another client).
and Tag changing in an OP client . . . . .nah, not by me. Someone else might do it, but i doubt it.

Herodes:
Uhm,.. even better .. have an close icon in the hubtab
You mean like the X in the top right corner ?

TTB, i think, like Quattro said, that showqueue is a remant from the Upload Queue, which PSG removed because he thought it was a bloat.  Personally i like the upload queue.  ?(

Yeap.. in some end of the hubtab ( in the tabs on the bottom ), same could go for the pms/searches I suppose.. but the middle mouse click is the best option. ..

Strong DC or some other crap, which says it's DC++, but it isn't (a nice bit of detection added by Sulan, which if you read the changelog, you would have seen, "Added some more checks for new filelists.").
When brings, us back to the Fake Tag request by Quattro. No.  :)

Since I downloaded and used 0.44 I get a lot of "DC++ has crashed" windows poping up in my face. Is it just me or ... ?

I am working on DCDM lang pack for a specialised version, but I need to ask something;

- Can't the special strings of DCDM++ be alphabetically ordered? It's too complicated :(
- I coulnd't find the string for "Open my file list", and doesnt work. Isn't this implemented or is the string's name different?

I know I should post this on the DCDM++ forum, but I'll be flamed there. You indicated you didn't think it a bad idea to total up the amount of a file a user has, and kick the user if they have too much or not enough of this file according to ADL search. For example if you don't want too much .wav files in your hub, you could set it to kick if a user shares more than 500MB of .wav files. Do you think you'll ever implement this? I'm sure quite a few users would find this helpful.

and with regard to this "Someone is watching you", don't you think this is a little harsh? I personally don't kick users who use DCDM++, and I dislike the double standards a lot of op's have. BUT, what is it that happens to those who do kick for DCDM++? You wrote on a thread in a forum that they might have certain config files wiped. I thought that very harsh and I imagine a lot of people would be disturbed by that. An inability to kick for that client or something like that would be much better IMO.

That is what the point system is for.

That was Sulan's little joke.  I thought it was quite funny.

I wouldn't have done that.  Just speculating options.  Disabling all out going communication was probably the best way to do this.

They now use Hub raws.  This should make a LOT faster to assign.

okey doke, thanks for your responses on that.

One last thing: This point system seems to total up how many of a certain file type a user is sharing (say 6 .wav files) rather than how much in terms of file size.

For example I set (max filesize) 1 MB of .wav files to equal 1 point. expecting a user who shared 600MB of .wav files to get 600 points. Instead it totalled up each .wav file in his share and gave me 3000 points.
Is it working as intended and the feature I wanted is not implemented? Or have I missed something and am unable to configure it?

If you give wav files 1 point. 600 wave files will get him 600 points.
If you give wav files 1 point. One 600 mb wave file will get 1 point.
If you give wav files over 600MB 600 points, then 1 wave file over 600 mb will give 600 points.

Make sense ?

yes, yes it does, thankyou. I'm sure that would be helpful for some people. My idea is pretty different then. So there's no chance of adding a box that says 'total filesize' with 'min filesize' and 'max filesize'?

Not with the way ADL search works.  You could probably have a Raw for total forbidden size > ##, but not one for each individual adl entry.

Yes.  A Myinfo profile would be easier for DCDM, but serverside is best of the lot. :)

Serverside, means by the hub.  Have a look here: http://board.univ-angers.fr/thread.php?threadid=4610&boardid=28

I used the information from that to add it to FastClientDetect, which is no longer used.  Add a Myinfo profile with the required data (description and email). :)

0.461.  Later versions will as well, but you will have to Make a Myinfo profile for them.

Title: DCDM++ file list problems
Post by: quicky2g on 22 September, 2008, 01:01:01
Hello all:

Not sure if this has been an issue brought up or not. I did some browsing through past topics and couldn't find anything so I figured I would ask (I'm sorry if this has been brought up before)........

I am using v0.049 of DCDM++

I am running Ptokax v0.4.1.1 and most of my clients are using DC++ v0.699 - v0.707

I'm not able to have DCDM++ get file lists for Operators and Master users. I saw earlier on in this post that DCDM++ was changed so that op's and masters and masters are ignored.

I haven't been able to find an option in the current DCDM++, but is there a way to modify a script or add a raw command that can make it so I can download the Operator and Master file lists?

Thanks

Rxs is very cool. Thank you Mutor.

I am still having the same problem with rsx that I was having with DCDM++...I can't figure out a way to check the filelists of Operators and Masters. The file lists of every other user are downloaded and checked instantly by rsx, but no luck with Operators and Masters. Any ideas?

Check filelist of ops and masters?? Why?
I don't remember if there is a setting in your client that says "Do not check op's", check if that box is marked or not.
But then i might be to tired to see the question proper..

Post by: quicky2g on 29 September, 2008, 08:21:06
Well I guess I'm not really trying to check the file lists of Operators and Masters.

My real goal is to download the file lists of every person on the hub regardless of profile. I am going to take the information from all the file lists and dump it into a MySQL database with timestamps on each file in the list. When new files are uploaded by someone, they close their connection to my hub, reconnect and their new files are hashed, and then DCDM++ or RSX++ will download their new file list. The new list will then be compared to what is already in the MySQL database and updated as needed with new files. Then I can take the information from the MySQL database and create a website with PHP for the people on my hub, that will show them the newest files uploaded to the hub.

The problem I am having right now is that I can't find a client that will download all the file lists, including Operators and Masters, so I can use the file lists in my project.

If someone could point me in the direction of a client that would blindly download all file lists regardless of profile, that would be great.

I won't be the one coding because I have some programmer friends who like projects like this, but I will share with anyone who is interested. If the project ever gets off the ground, I will probably post some type of tutorial on here for anyone interested.

Are you advertising to everybody that you're doing this? Do you have their consent to publish their private information on a website?
Title: Re: DCDM++
Post by: quicky2g on 30 September, 2008, 03:30:46
The website I will be creating will take all the usernames and passwords from the RegisteredUsers.xml file from the Ptokax hub and create authentication on the website from those usernames and passwords. The website will be SSL encrypted so I won't have to worry about anyone outside of the hub who isn't a registered user accessing the site.

I am going to have to look through the settings for rsx++ again I guess. I still can't seem to find what I am looking for but maybe this client just does not support what I am looking for.
