1? Your share must not contain - expect to be kicked and de-registered, demoted, or tempbanned if any of the following are discovered:

   ?Fake or junk files (no drm encrypted or sample .vob files)

   ?Hacking tutorials/instructionals
   ?Any real depictions of torture, snuff, or pedophilic, necrophilic, electrophilic, emetophilic, coprophilic, urophilic, dermophilic, underage, incestuous or violent porn.
 - Enforcement: Scripted - Any searches of the hub for the above or responses to such searches = auto kick. Non-registered users and ChatOnly level users that haven't read these rules are tempbanned.
 - The Ops are all notified of the details when this happens so any errors by the bot can be corrected.

2? Share what you download off others here that doesn't break rule #1. So even though minimum share amount is 100MB, to prevent excessive leeching the Ops have the ability to block/demote you - regardless of your sharesize - from downloading off anyone else in the hub when you've had ample time in the hub to increase your share, also when you share either obviously useless junk, or the files are extremely limited in number or diversity. With trusted VIP or higher level users that already share quality files prolifically, common sense will prevail in regards to substandard files they downloaded not being kept.
 - Enforcement: User diligence - Cross-referencing filelists with upload logs.

3? The maximum upload slots permitted for dialup users is 3, and 10 for others, and upload speed per user must not fall below 1000Bytes/second. Please report severe upload bandwidth limiting by non-dialup users to an Op. Clients with download:upload ratio bandwidth limiting must not have it set higher than 1:1 (tag = R:1).
 - Enforcement: Mostly built-in to the hub, dialup max slots  and ratio check is scripted.

4? Stay in this hub while downloading from users here. Cloning, sharefaking, tagfaking and otherwise cheating is forbidden.
 - Enforcement: User diligence - Cross-hub checking.

5? Continually unsharing/moving files around in your share without informing users that are trying to resume partial downloads does not sit well with us, and you'll know about it. Failing to respond to Ops that message you about this without being set as away will result in action.
 - Enforcement: At any Op's discretion.

6? Only one registration allowed per user. Attempts to break this rule result in a warning then a ban. Any extra accounts found will be arbitrarily deleted. Continually disconnecting users to avoid uploading or changing nicknames to get around a demotion is the same as saying "please ban me", and we will.
 - Enforcement: Scripted.

7? Spamming (includes mentioning hub addresses) or flooding (over 15 consecutive lines) either main or private chats = auto kick. Non-registered users are tempbanned.
 - Enforcement: Spam prevention scripted, flood prevention built-in to the hub.

8? Netiquette. Repeated file request adverts *without actually chatting* in mainchat, repeatedly typing in ALLCAPS, inflamatory vituperations or trolling in mainchat for users to pm you about trading or other forms of communication/interaction is an offense that will get you gagged, if not kicked. Don't test us on this one.
 - Enforcement: At any Op's discretion. ALLCAPS prevention is scripted.

9? When requesting a slot from someone, include the directory/filename(s) you're after and, if resuming, how much approx. % or fraction of the file you already have.
 - Enforcement: User diligence - Reports of unwanted or excessive pestering will be acted on.

10? English only in mainchat, thanks. Offenders will be gagged, NOT kicked. Take non-English conversations to PM please. Oh, and "my english is bad" is no excuse for not abiding by these rules, copy/paste them to a translator - http://www.humanitas-international.org/newstran/comparisons.htm

It's quite easy to force reading of the rules. In my hub unregistered users that haven't read them are prevented from registering (they are blocked from downloading from level VIP and higher till they register). Level promotions are also prevented until the user being promoted has read them.

Wow I thought my hub rules were long winded. You have so many rules telling users what they shouldn't share or do, but none telling them what they should share. Take it it's some kind of general hub...

Here's my rules:

1. 5 GB min share.
2. Min 2 slots, maximum 10 hub connections.
3. Ensure 5GB at least of your share is death/black/thrash/doom/folk/viking metal related mp3. Anything else shared outside that is your business, as long as it meets the rules. Note: Nu metal/metalcore does not come under the aforementioned genres.
4. Do not share any installed/extracted programs or games and do not share any useless files.
5. No incomplete files allowed, download into an unshared folder / no .vob files over 100MB / no .wav files totalling over 500MB.
6. Keep your list well organised and tidy. i.e. separate one type of media from another, like videos and mp3s. Don't just put everything in one big folder, this is not Kazaa. Op's need to identify whether your share has 5gb of proper metal quickly: So if your 5gb of metal is questionable and scattered all over the place, sort it into clearly marked folders. Use your common sense.
7. No acting like a twat in main chat, or typing out addresses/advertising. Report any advertising to the hub bot or main-chat.
8. No faking/unreasonable limiting. The few users using DCGUI must activate TTH.
9. No under 18/animal/rape porn/other sick porn. [perm ban]
10. Use a clean nick. i.e. no jumbled characters, have some imagination.
11. No disconnecting, imposing any stingy limits on other users or trading (stick to soulseek for that) and ensure you stay in this hub when you are downloading.
12. Aim to speak English in main chat, other languages can be spoken in private messages.
13. Don't bother Op's by asking them for slots, they have enough messages to deal with.
14. Don't ask to be VIP/Op, we will come to you if we need you.
15. No large amounts of mis-named files. i.e. 'Track 01', etc.
