Next PtokaX version will have new settings manager, and with this come major change in gui where settings will have own window. How design of this new window looks now is on pictures below.
Now it is only static design and is easy to change things in it. I am sure that is not perfect and i want from you, from PtokaX users comments, ideas and suggestions for this new settings window.

Looks really cool.

I think adding Profile manager under Advanced would be a good idea.
And keep the layout of it as it is.

Site currently down, ETA of returning online is 2099 ;p

Uhm... where is the script editor? :)
Everything could have been anything else and it would have just as much meaning.

amenay

Great work, I definitely like the direction these screens show. Exciting changes on the horizon for PtokaX.

I have a few (or more than a few) ideas, some hopefully are good, some may be bad. Of course, better to say them now than be sorry when everything is in place. Some of this is of the same spirit to clean things up and possibly increase usability, user friendliness, and functionality, even if it deviates a little from the topic.

A general note and a large part of my ideas: I think it'd be better to make some branches more specific, leaving space for later additions, rather than squeeze a lot into each. (This also benefits new users by making things easier to find)

So from the top working downwards.

1. Is the MotD branch necessary, really? I've wondered before about why the MotD is still in the GUI (maybe MotD path, Send as private, Disable) since it's just another text file. (While I'm at it.. why keep it in \cfg and not \texts?) Maybe something like a file manager would be good to have separate from settings for things such as texts, config, and at a stretch (they do fall under the file catagory..) scripts...

Some things which would be included in the proposed File Manager would be:
   For Texts:
For text files: Enable, open texts folder, reload text files, send as private.
For MotD file: Enable, Select Path box, open file (with associated program), reload button, send as private.
   For Configuration:
Open cfg folder, save settings, reload ClientTags.xml (if/when possible), and possibly backup options.
   For Scripts:
(No Script editor) Open scripts folder, restart scripts, memory usage per script.
Then a list with scripts just like current PX (with up/down stacking buttons at top and a on/off box for each), but with a new context menu per script:
Open script(with associated program or open with...), restart script, check syntax.

2. Make General-->Redirect settings then add Hubowner e-mail to the space leftover in the General #2 ("More General") branch.

3. Even though there's a limit to how many prefixes you can put in the box saying "Limit 5" next to it would be informative. (might be good for other strings, such as the ones with 64 char limits, for the sake of explicitness)

4. Minor note, MyINFO processing might deserve its own branch, if only due to its importance. (not really much of a reason)

5. Rules looks fine if only a bit crowded (Maybe description/tag checking separate) Adding more branches if/when other options come along later would work fine here.

6. With deflood just switch the MyINFOs from the first branch with Max PMs to user per minute (Chat and PM in one branch, MyINFO and protocol commands along with the misc deflood.

Hope this input helps. I know some of MotD/File manager suggestions require changes that aren't exclusive to the GUI/Settings manager, but hopefully they make sense :P

Keep up the good work.

Thx for ideas. Pictures updated. I am looking for better names for settings pages ::) And question is, merge or not merge Another general with More general ???

You should merge the two general pages IMO. As for names, I'm going to think, I promise. ;)

And the point of that is ??
Sorry but i saw i hubsoft the other day with GUI colour options in the settings and i
still fail to understand why ...
To me that would be like adding somethin that can be scripting and would waste resources

Just asking, the old one does not like them much. I am not a GUI-fan at all (would be funny from a guy who administers console *NIX-systems).

Hehe, that's why I asked, the widget styles looked way familiar (my sister's computer has this theme too).
