I'm trying to find out if anyone has or will be developing Direct Connect for Mac users?

I've used the NMDC client but get kicked because it doesn't have tag info built in. DCGUI seems to be banned from most hubs for faking, the DC++ alpha isn't fully functional but can't find any further trilas planned or anyone that has managed to continue with the compiling problems they have had. ShakesPeer still seems to be fairly well allowed, but is old and a bit buggy.

Mac users shouldn't have to use Virtual PC to be able to join in the fun!! I know a lot of hub owners would welcome us Mac users if there was up to date software!!

Any comments/help is welcomed, any wise-ass comments/mac slagging, well, nothing i never heard before!!

Thanx in advance!

DCGUI is your best option. It is actively developed and has the most features. Any hub owner that bans that client for faking is a moron.

There is a developer(s) working on a port of DC++ to the nix world (which implies Mac in your case). Only problem is waiting for them to finish with the GUI.

Sorry there isn't much out there.

I like childish behavior. Maybe this post will be deleted next.

Thanks for your help (and interest)

I'm currently using DCGUI V0.3a 20031011 which i downloaded from a user in a Mac hub. I've noticed other users that have even newer versions, I'm guessing they've managed to compile the sourcecode succesfully. If anyone HAS managed to, or knows of someone that has managed to compile a newer version of DCGUI OR the DC++ for Mac from sourceforge, i would be interested to hear from you.

Since I posted the first thread, I have had discussions with a netfounder that is VERY interested to get Macs more involved and I have also found a Mac experimental Hub software. There seems to be Mac DC software out there - just REALLY difficult to find.

Here's hoping those developers finish soon.

Thanks again!
