wich script <--> max users on around 8xxKbit upload

i just saw latinmusic allready saying about 2 big scripts slowing hub's down.
this raised a question again on me wich i had a while back.
lately i'm doing mostly optimizing things on my a.i. bot but i would like 2 compair it with some more ppl.
my latest version can handle 350 users on a 8xxKbit adsl connection.

more optimizing 2 do for sure, allready gone down to 2-5% cpu with 10% max on my latest S.b version.
still can go down more and it is a big script.

for the moment it's still tga and friends only, maby i'm gone release a public version in the future but not 2 sure about this.
if released it will be compiled and without source.
it's pretty optimized allread but can be done even more.
gotta be posible to get that peak down to 5% or lower.
in short it has 4 dedicated routines for all dc++ tag's (3 bcdc++ mods can't hide the limter), full dcgui tag support, 111 commands (every command level can be adjusted or disabled), offline user database, full logging (searching/viewing the logfiles from the bot), sneaky anti advertising, really beta and still needs a lot of work on the webstats/logs + lots more handy or sneaky tricks.

My hub running with 24 medium/high script, by a 56k modem, max users 2000 user statistic disabled, Pentium Celeron 733MhZ, 1,5Gb ram ddr

With 175 users i have 5% ram and 15% cpu max

maybe you should try to release a public version here, in few weeks all old users will have found the way back in here & then u will see how many PPL are interesstet in your Artifical Insanity Bot

& u will get some more bug reports or ideas... who knows ??

but if u don't try it u will never find it out....

and hope to se your script Plop maybe in 2 versions compiled and Lua.. ?? Lua is a must so each hub can tweak the script to their purpose and look !

only a compiled version will be released, every command can be disabled or set 2 level from the config file.
so no need 2 release the source.
it can be tweaked enough.
i'm doing some cleaning up (help menu needs 2 be reordered) + some cleaning/finishing of the optimizing.
and maby a better manual, not that it's that complicated.
want 2 release it as a nice complete package.
release date = no idea yet.

sad to see/hear...
i can see the purpose of compiling is speed and total credit to the scripter.. but also some bad things about it..  as i cant add any commands in the script or do some rewriting of it to my purpose and function... and i have testet the speed thing its not a whole lot faster if gets maybe in the biggest scripts ( CB ) and so on... but there are also some honest ppl left on dc alot IMO, and i have and will allways give credit where it belongs... !!

so no need 2 release the source.
it can be tweaked enough.

it can never be tweaked enough for my purpose !
but its still up to you Plop ;o)
