a few of my users use a strange status of FIREBALL which does strange things to thier icons.

Im using RMDC++ and when i look down the userlist an icon stands out (kinda red with spikes) but if i do a report on the users i see this

Status:      Fireball Away (11)

Status:      Fireball (9)

 Just wondering if anyone knew what it was!

DCDM checks them on the way in, all seems ok, i re-check this lot with rmDC and i dont get anything funny from them!
 Just thought this was odd and was wondering if anyone else had seen it!

Hi you noobies ;) The original NMDC client used to have different status messages for different users. i.e. a user's icon would be faded if they were away. Some clients/mod's still have this feature, like IDC i believe. A fireball simply means that user has an incredibly fast connection and has uploaded a file at 200 KB/s+ or something along those lines.

DOOOH, I know that fireball means Lan T3, house means Lan T1, sattelite dish means - sattelite, globe with cabel means - cabel....

but fom where do you get these numbers?

Status: Fireball Away (11)    <<<--- what does 11 means???

Status: Fireball (9)           <<<--- what does 9 means???

n1ck

Odd because in all the other clients ive ever used ive never seen this fireball icon. Im guessing that the numbers are what tells the client what to show

ie 11 = Fireball away
9= Firewall (normal)
6= Lan T1 ect

from what i can gather, each status is simply numbered. Not really familiar with those house icons and all that. seems like they're added in some of the new clients. prefer the olds ones in NMDC.
