It would be good though, i think Y-Hub has this..

So people can acces your hub from those port nr you enter..

U are correct Yhub Has it!
May be we should mention this to ptaczek 4 future ptokax options!
...
There is many uses of this.
In my case i just changed hub port and u know how it is with hub users getting info about port change many don't even know what port is etc.
For now I'm ok i was running yhub set to 0 max redirecting to acctual hub on new port ....
Now u know why i wanted 2 ports!:)
.......

as far as i know yhub got that idea from verlihub.
the idea behind it is simple, if the 1st port is busy the client is send 2 the 2nd, etc....
some operations can take time but don't need much cpu @ all, the time comes from the fact that the client and hub talk 2 eachother.
using more then 1 port solves that the hub is busy during that talking.
as a result you hub will work more efficient.

Post by: Hades on 08 March, 2004, 03:34:04
Ptaczek u have to implement this in future ptokax:))
Yhub is a great soft but has no scripts to it.
Personally i will never run hub like that !
It's dead and dedicated to downloads only.
Ptokax is the one to go! Show me one more soft that has so many options scriptwise to it!!
Hub has a spirit that's what kepp same ppl come back again and again so please ptaczek keep up the good work lets stay no 1:P
...
PS:
Where is new beta??
lol

hmm, just yesterday I've implemented secondary port option without reading this thread. To be more precise, without reading this forum for loong time ;)
The progress of next beta release is at 88% and slowly running to finish. So, be happy ;0)

this is done very simply =]

if u run a hardware firewall just type http://192.168.0.1/ into a browser on the network, and just foward what every port to the server comp to port 411... =]

or if you dont have a firewall...i wrote a little port fowarder that i use on my server do get myself active when behind the server =]

either way works fine

The only problem with that method is you can not know the IP of the person connecting because the application acts like a proxy.

well, it really depends on the socket class\object your working with...the ip can linked up to the peer ip of the directed connection with a good socket class, otherwise with say the windows api socket:- winstock, this isnt really possable

it's added after 15.25, so no use 2 try or even search for it.
those versions haven't leaked out and will never leak out.

1. Why do i really want to have that release?
2. What makes u so shure that it has not leaked out?
3. It took me about 20 min since i started looking for 15.25 until i had it on my harddrive. So if i really, really, REALLY want it; i'll propably do.

don't know about you but many folks just think newer is better.

QuoteOriginally posted by jocke 2. What makes u so shure that it has not leaked out?
only 1 hub has it, so if it leaks out pta knows who 2 blame.
beside this the owner of that hub can be trusted, it's a friend of pta for a long time.

i wish you good luck on your hunt for 15.26+ versions of 0.3.3.0.
just it would be a waste of time.

It is simply, ptaczek give it only to one hub for testing, and only to one another "programmer" ... if is leaked, is easy to find who want to be killed :D

Hi ppl:

I'm just posting this info , because i want to help hub owners to set more than one port to the hub.
I've found this software:

This software is capable of Port-Forwarding packets...in any version of Windows !!!!
Download it there ----> SkyLark Port-Forward (http://www.skylarktechnology.com/software/download.php)

btw: I've tested it with 200 connections and it worked like a charm.
Good Luck to all.  :]

this doesn't add a second port 2 ptokax, it just redirects trafic from another port 2 the port ptokax uses.
so the port from ptokax still handles everything.
