lol. have you treid it?, it dors many things, it searches for bad files, has Op,Admin commands, language selection for the help files, errrrm lotsa other stuff to, i will write a feature list asap ;)
Perhaps heres a nifty suggestion command prefix so when they set it up it will have prefixes they can choose so instead of #regme it could be +regme or !regme or ?regme or many more options

Yep sure, just remove the nemox if you wish, it was a mutate of Gekko, but seems Gekko is heading in a differ direction known as Keiko or Gekko, i spent all last night on it, and its now great, took me long enough, but yep you can if you wish, i have the new one now, just waiting to sort the damn upload server then will be here ;)

OK the ip blocker yep will be done, and redrect all and anti op redirect thingys will and can be done
on the other hand the OnTimer functions you want, cant be done,
my script already uses a 3way timer

Do you have the screensize of the bot fixed on a fixed size? like 1024x768?
if so can you make it autoadjust to the screen from the user?
Cause i,m having this troublle with pkotax that i cannot reach some of the buttons or adjust some parts of the screen like in the tab users and chat i cannot bring up the part where you can type messages right into pkotax;or in the tab OP,s and Bans i cannot adjust the size of the part where the permban users are in.
all this is quitte annoying thats why i ask this question.
btw gekko is looking better al the time keep up the good work.
i allready like the part that you can make adjustments to the bot whitout having to memorise all the commands.
the only question about that is howmany resources will it use with the gui and howmany without it?

this because there are listings with bad ip,s from riaa guys and it would be easier to add them to a txt file than type them in manuelly.
i know a guy who has a blacklist with over 70.000 ip,s
so take a guess how long it would take to add them manuelly i rather would do something nicer with my time;-)).

it shud be fine with a resolution of 800x640 upto 1600x1024 ;)
and resources will still be very lo, the gui does not have to be running, it mainly just for now, a setup ;)

im not sure, when, if it gets very demanding, mebbe i release soon, but im planning, maybe on the 1st of next month (december), but it might not support many features until the release of a newer ptokax, so we will av to see, if it is that case, it may be released the same day as ptokax ;)

They used 24/7 on Scripts and hub and hub and scripts. but not to be selffish guys, they have a life out of scripting world and testing the stuff all the time...
instead of crying whole the time that these people leave us, we should follow their steps and continue on their work and bring Ptokax Hubs to top of the world where none can even look so high up.
This does not mean, i dont like aMutex or (uk-kingdom)pH?tt? but its just a reminder that we should do our part of the job for ptokax just as they do. hope i will nto get a bad reaction for public in forum. its just my little comment.

I like the look of this G?KK? it looks realli realli good and reminds me a lot of Channel Bot but the new version G?KK? is more advanved. I used to love Channel Bot but i think things needed to be updated and i was with Technics about a few commands need 2 be added but Guibs thinks those commands are not needed.
So i was thinking is there any chance u could add the follwing commands:
!scanhub - Scans The Hub 4 Useless Files Like .tmp etc And Kicks The User.
!findfake - Just Finds A Fake...I think this would be good because those programs and me are not compatible ;) LoL
!downloadgag - Stop a person from downloading. I think this is good because if u feel that some one is breaking rules then they can b download gagged as it will annoy them.
?ip - matches an ip to a username easily
!kickban - as it is easier to kick and ban a username wen many ppl need 2 be kicked and banned!
!repass - a user or op can change there password easily.
!wassup - Shows the last 10 - 15 (or more if possible :rolleyes: ) posts that were posted. This is good wen u are not in the hub and u can come in and find out what has been happenin.
!status - change status, eg from a Normal Reg 2 A VIP as this would be easier than delete a user then re reg them.
!bot - makes bot talk...as it may draw more attention
And Finally a !gag that no one can get out of easily because in the hub i am in just by reconnecting an annoying user that you don't want to kick can get bak in and jus chat so easily. Making Ops look stupid :(.
I understand that there are many command that i am asking you to try and put in. If it is possible and you are able to then that woulld be excelent :D .
I'm sorry abt asking for so much and i think this is already a brilliant bot and i will use it even if the commands i have asked for are not put in. If these commands are put in then i cnt thank you enuff.

Well The Gekko is really Cool I just have one small request maybe it sounds childish but why dont u avoid words like The Op has gone to lick some Pu*** and so on, I mean should it a be a decent one ? the the commands and the way the scripts done is cool, its just when the bot gives some commands when op/mod Logs in...just an small idea...

Well gekko is build for ptokax debugs, and for new ptokax when released, and new ptokax will have it integrated so not much point ;)
and also for the time its a very unhealthy thing to add to a large script in my opinion

heheh no i just noticed alot of ppl use other bots (more then one bot) i have seen a few hubs running Gekko and robocop or gekko and "whatevr" so i decided im going to add something that will fix conflicts between bots ;)

Well I thank you phatty for the gekko very very cool but yes i have to be a turd and ask if there is a how to file for it, i have it going on a test hub of mine but i cant seem to get it working right i think ive unzipped it to the wrong folder or something any tips or help from any one would be great.

Sorry that i didnt release G5, but after alot of time, and it went wrong, i just closed the project, so i have rewritten for then the 6th time, and i bring u Gekko v6, altho i have a little catching upto do from others, but so far it has more features then the ned of G5, so it shud do the trick, runs at at smooth 300k and it has such things as ip range block, some nice greetings, lots of settings, and some fil checking functions, its much better and cleaners, some requests have also been filled in such as the help will be displayed in pm, i will be making a converter for the profiles, as the profiles.dat has been rewritten, lots of changes, so if u use pre-release you'll have to reset profiles, and if you get stuck using the advanced user profiles.dat tell me, and ill put the simple version for download, but first i need about 5 beta testers, 3 now aMediaman is beta 1, and John is beta 2, ok 3 beta testers, please reply if u want the job :P, n thx for support ;)

Hmmm 1 more thing, if you are pretty new to bots/scripts i recommomend starting with something like robocop or darkmind, Gekko is pretty much for pro's so if u newbie dont get to excited just in case u cant get it to work lol
Hahaha yep i was just going to post that phatty.... when i make someone a master they can only type in a pm and not the main chat.
Another possible request is that maybe the joke command can be seperate from the trigger one...
the chat on command works both of them so if you dont wanna hear gekko's little remarks you shut chat off but then the jokes dont work either :) just another ideal no biggie.

just a quick howto
usin G6, you will have to change all ur registeredusers.dat and for those of u that have alot of registeredusers it can b a pain in the ass so heres the simple way todo it
open registeredusers.dat with notepad, click edit recplace, type |numberofnetwrfounder
for example if u have channelbot or the older Gekko releases network founder is 7
so
|7
change it to a word such as
|Owner
then do the same for all the others replcae to the appropriate
then once they are all change start chnaging the words to numbers so
|Owner
chnage to
|0
and keep doing this until they are al replcaed, very simple, good luck any question supporting this pleace do post

ok the kicked was my spelling mistame so thats fixable, i also noticed a ban problem :S, but i will sort that, and disocnnect will be sorted, as for the global hubs, i will fix that no problem, i just didnt add message for if user doesnt have the hub tab and i have not updated for the newer hub tags, so i will get on it asap :)

hmm you have to replace the profiles.dat, with the old profiles.dat, then reset up the accounts, but G6 wont be long and it means doing the same thing ;)

Thats a bit of a problem.
Also, maybe its just me, but i noticed there was a !boss command, but how do i input my nick so it'll say it when users use that command? Haven't found anything to do it yet.

Alright, i must be stupid, but heres my bug report:
When i OP people they have admin commands.
All the OPs including admins and moderators all get a when they enter.
Some users get errors (faking on slot number) when i reg the Ptokax bot along with Gekko. Unregging the Ptokax bot lets users in 300+ hubs join, so thats a problem.
!topic command doesnt do anything.
few other bugs which i cant think of right now that are only minor. Will come post em again.
well, most of command will only work in the debugs, ready for the new ptokax, and, have you changed the profiles.dat correctly, i have re-checked, and everyone tells me that, but they always have done a newbie mistake :p

u seem to be using the wrong modules for the newer Gekko file Warn was transfered to the KTB.gmod(ule) so u need to make a fresh install of the Gekko v6 beta 4 files

lol dont try and edit the files, just put the rar file into ptokax directory and click extract here and it will do the setting up itself

A:
in the settings.dat file set your hubpass and ownername
after you have done that you need to type in main
PASS
this has to be done by ALLl OP,s and ABOVE
otherwise they cannot kick or ban and such things.
B:
you will have to adjust the reguser.dat to fit the profiles.dat or otherwise your regusers will have some priviliges you didnt give them.
so edit the file reguser.dat outside gekko to the new profiles
if you type !SET LOG ON gekko will keep track of users connected together with ip and stores this in a file.
and as phatty told you DONT TRY TO EDIT GEKKOV6.LUA
it is a compiled script so not editablle.

heheh thats why i said this script not for newcomers to the gekko project, advanced script, !set log on will switch it on and send u updtaes on bad clients being banned or such, try !set hubpass

these commands only can be done by hubowener, once i get time i will make a setup prog that will convert all ur settings to work for newbies included ;)

I'm testing the latest Gekko version, I have this problem:
When the Owner connects and use !help, he get all avaible commands displayed.
When a Master connects he should be able to also have all avaible commands displayed, but he only get all the commands untill the Admin commands and not the " Owner/Master" commands list.
What can I have done wrong?

Thnx for the suggestion Trucker, but that doesn't work.
The Masters are aible to do the 2 commands that are only avaible for Owner/Masters, he only doesn't get those 2 commands in his commands list.

ok the userinfo wont get ur userinfo because you are immuned to such a command, if u want to check remove ur name from being hubowner
and as for hubs i need to add a nil value check, will do that soon

A; he wants gekko to search the file list of a user on connect.
B: he wants it to search for exe. files
c: if found then disconnect user and send message to him that he has to zip the exe files.
with in that messages wich exe files are ment.

user xxxx i found xxx.exe herefour you are disconnected as it is not alowed to have exe files in this hub please zip these files and come back in.

personally i think this will be enourmus on cpu and memory.
my gues for you is to use a script like illegalist and add the word .exe to it.
this way all users are checked for it and you even can specify wich message you want to send to the user.

Ive been testing some of your betas and the 1 of the things that gets annoying at times is the warning about someone sharing rape files etc.. can u make a setting to turn it on and off?

the whole point of that function is to get rid of them sicko's so i wont add a turn off switch, but i will set it to be in notification, and notification can be turned off/on by each op, they then its their choice ;)

You can delete each type of file search at the settings file, just delete the ones you don't want to be used. The reason I deleted some of them is because of 2 reasons:
1. sometimes a person is accused for rape/teen files, every time he/she enters but hasn't got any weirdo stuff.
2. The best results to prevent weirdo sharing in the hub is by screening each user their filelist by the Operators.
To Phatty: on v.4 the massmessage function didn't work, is this fixed in the latest version? (I hope this one isn't already reported)

Had another hddcrash this past night, but on the bright side of that was that I had to setup gekko i my main hub instead of the testhub.
It's been running nice & smoothly all day and the OPs and users love it :D Only positive reactions so far.
Only thing is that even though I disabled hubpass it still asks for it from the OPs that has been logging on during the day. I guess i've done something wrong when i changed settings, but if you have the time to explain the hubpass-function again (hope you wont get annoyed with me now) I would really appreciate it.

ok Phatty the link works fine :) beta is working great as well, only 1 slight problem so far so here it is :)
the bad word feature:
if it is set to trade, or set to censor, or set to space, the other scripts i have running do not work, well the commands for those scripts dont work :(, but no errors are visible:)
if the bad word feature is set to block or to off, the commands for those scripts work fine :)..... so im not that worried about it, the fix is easy just set the bad word to off and everything is fine >:o)

cause i just put the original ini in and still the same error.

i even d/l the version on this page and put that one in but it stays the same onley thing i changed was the hubaddy in the setup .ini
hey [NL]trucker i dont know if this will help you, but the errors i was getting was caused from having other scripts in the script folder.
so what i did was removed all scripts from the script folder than ran the gekko, then added the other scripts i used 1 by 1. then everything was fine :) hope that helps.

ok as this is based on px 0.330, im pretty sure alot of stuff wont work on td4, soooooooooo, im looking for 1 td4 hub runner that is willing to give it a shot and see how its trial goes, maybe i can make it more compatable, maybe not, prefere to stick to the newer beta's, i think it will cripple td4 tbh, wasnt so good at handling some of the newer stuff, ive added, sooo how many 0.330 users are there so i know wether to release a few pre-releases......??

Yet again an awesome version of Gekko, 7.1 fix 2 works great for me so far even with 1850 users. However I couldnt find how to change 2 things:
- Turn off all welcome msgs for regged/vips/ops/mods/admins/masters/owner
- Turn off self registration for users.
Also a little error that comes up everytime a user joins:

ther shud be a fix hanging around somewhere, i will try get this done pronto, u will be second in line for being sent by mail if u like....shud be able to fix all the little bugs etc... :)

Hay !!! I tested G7 and try bouth fixes.....
when reg & vip profile connected to hub will work with no errors...
when op & above profiles connected,I get error:

yes, well i am kinda back, the new G8 engine is being written from scratch, and the coding is ace, performance shud be superb, just so ya know i back @ writing gex ;)

hmm....for the fans of the s-ai chatbot built into gekko, thers gonna be a problem having it inbuilt into the G8 engine, so, prefere to have the s-ai script seperate?...

Gekko 7 didnt have a command to upgrade profile.. so can you add an upgrade command? so to upgrade registered users to vip etc. thx 8)
