Title: Advisor script
Post by: Flux on 13 January, 2004, 14:49:26
While this is fresh in my head, i would like to know if this could be possible as I am fed up of wxplianing to members how to understand their bandwidth. As many members complain at other members that there upload speed is rubbish and slow.

Can there be a script made (if Possible) that checks a members connection and how many upload slots and downloads slots he has and how many hubs he is in the send him/her a PM advising that with there current connection they should only have 2 upload slot and and so many download slots and should only be in 2 hubs etc...

As i find many members really don't understand how to manage this right and i am alway trying to explain myself and i am getting pretty annoyed keep on mentioning this all the time. So i thought could there be a script made for this at all and if so call i the Advisor Bot...

do you have what the FAQ written down,
you can prob modify a textbot/rulesbot to show
that info.

i think its a good idea to post your thoughts on
bandwidth, since every ISP is diffrent, bandwith
is not the same for everyone.

best example for this is cable from sweden compaired with the rest of the world. lol

btw if seen hub's who either force ppl 2 put there up/download speeds in there nicks or hubs witch show what speed should use what connection settings.
we do the same kind of things on tga.
setting your connection 2 cable while you have 10Mbit is weird as it's faster then T1, so we tell ppl 2 use that for there connection type.
and ofcourse use a script witch check for different max slots per type.

getting downloads slots is imposible.
2 find the connection type can somethimes be done on a whois.
