Title: mainchat character flooder
Post by: [NL]trucker on 28 March, 2004, 13:32:49
hello all

i just heard from another hubowner that if folks use the !me command that they can flood the mainchat.

this counts for regs and above and and not for normal users.

i have tried it out with him and she was right even after i removed the mark in profile on no chat limit and i have the settings for max chat in pkotax on 400 characters in main and still he was ablle to post more then 1000 characters in main whit no problems at all.

so what i want is a script where i can set max char in main and if someone post more that OPchat gets maessage like:

user xxx has tried to flood mainchat with message xxxx
user is now for the 1 time tempbanned/banned/kicked for ....hours/days

and a message send to user you are now for the 1 time..... because you tried to send ...  this is over max allowed characters in main.
after three times permban.

can this be done???

whouldn't it be a good idea if ptokax not limit the mainchat, but instead limit the amount of bytes sended by a client including normal protocol.

i havent got a clue were you talking about but all is fine by me aslong as this problem gets solved.

asfar as i see it comes down on the same principle.

but i gues this is just a bug in ptotax and it needs to be solved now before folkes abuse this leak.
