Title: Standalone IP Ban script
Post by: DoD_Owner on 28 April, 2004, 14:38:08
Hi

It seems that my script doesn't have an inbuilt IP Perm Ban command (Iceguard 1.955) so I wondered if someone could make an xtra script to do this for me ??

Just something like          +banip

Thx in advance.

You know I got about halfway through writing this script.... then realised something....  Ptokax has these commands built in which is probably why they are not in the script you use.

!ban () - permanently ban IP address of the , followed by kick. Reason is optional.
!banip - permanently ban IP address
!nickban - ban user's nick (if user is connected then he is kicked)
!unban - unban IP address or Nick
!getbanlist - display list of banned IP addresses

Why not just use those??

Check your profiles, in the profile manager  under advanced tab  and be sure that the commands are turned on  under each appropriate profile....
Trust me, if your using ptokax, it works and its there.

I have no advanced tab... but under profile manager is it turned on... but not working. Tried to type it in pm to my bot, and i mainchat.... nothings works. It doesn't show a succesful ban or lists it as perm banned ip, in the hub soft.

What should I do ?

the ip you ban with the ptotax inbuild !banip or !ban or !nickban dont show in your hubsoft.

instead it is placed in ptotax under the tab [OPs and Bans]

you can test it by yourself by namming someone and witeing down name and ip and then look it up in that tab.

My hub soft is ptokax, so it's the same.

Must check it with my hub host, later, when available...

There would be a notification in ptokax when you ban an ip/nick:

!banip 222.222.222.222

<[Security]Janine> *** 222.222.222.222 is banned
and you could type !getbanlist to see who is on the list.

[06:16] BANLIST:
[06:16]
[06:16] [ 0 ]  222.222.222.222  ( )
[06:16]
[06:16] Use !unban to unban

and the newest will be at bottom I believe

yah if your not locally hosting I would have checked with them first...

Because that bans a Nick (and it's associated IP) not just an IP Ban which is what was requested.

The current PtokaX script interface does not provide for banning an IP, only a Nick and the IP it connected from.
