I know this is not all of the US, but in any country where this is at all possible to pass such a law, you'd better worry....

Well you chose a very biased site to read the article from.

Basically, any person that blaims republicans or democrats as a whole is being just as prejudice as the people it is protesting.

"The measures would apply to doctors or nurses who decline to perform or assist with abortions and to pharmacists who refuse to fill prescriptions for morning-after pills."
The bill is actually targeted to suit the pro-life choice, but could be applied to other characteristics people may find immoral.

I think this has much larger implications on woman's free choice than gay rights.

There is also a section stating emergency treetment can not be refused. So if you have a problem you may be inconvienced a little trying to find a rational, non-prejudice doctor.... but wouldn't you want one anyway ;-)

Nice article. It irks me and I'll contact my representative, but this is far from the major concern in America.

How about the upcoming election where people are trying to decide which canidate is the lesser of two evils.

Heaven forbid we ever get rid of the retarded electoral college and actually support more than a two party system.

My point was not "look what happens to gays", but "look what happens. Period". As you said, this applies to anyone that doesn't fit in the eye of his practician, and in small towns that can be a problem big time ("oh weren't you that lady that was pretty loud and drunk in our neighbour's backyard yesterday evening? And now you want a day-after pill? No can do, lady, that's against my principles."). Laws such as this shouldn't be possible. Period. It supposes the categorisation of the population in fit-ins and don't-fit-ins. The next thing after that is registration (it's already a step towards it), and after that the yellow star. You get my drift.

This administration is actually removing funds from education and investing money in obscurantism (creationism being taught in class, campaigns for abstinence, not for condoms...).
