Title: Filechecker for passiv users too
Post by: TMaster on 18 May, 2004, 11:36:37
Hi All!

I didn't find a script wich checks passiv users sharing when the users entry the hub. Does a script like this exist? Or a kicker script, the main point is that passiv users should be checked.
Sorry if this question was asked before, didn't find that.

And a script for ub/slot ratio for each connection type (modem, dsl, cable, etc ) would be nice too ;)

Thanx a lot

as far as i know if yourself are on active the scripts you have will also search the passive users.

on the other hand if your on passive to you will have a problem ... as you cant get their list.

active can search active and passive users
passive can search only passive users.

and i think userchecking shopuld be done by a cient like dc++k cmd or something like that.

it uses lesss resources.

Hi there

passive mode users can't be searched by any hubscript !!!
Simply because they don't return search results over the hub like active mode users.
I am not sure if client side scripting would be a possible solution for this, but there is no clientside-script for this purpose on the forum.
Like [NL]Trucker said a well configured DC++k in acitve mode is the best solution for this.

dc++k CDM downloads the filelist, so it can search the best way posible.
and as a bonus it doesn't lag the hub if it's running on the compie of 1 of the op's.
ptokax can use port 413 UDP 2 search in active mode, but it will never be as good as dc++k CDM due 2 the fact that clients only return x results.

a couple script packages have that option, inc my artificial insanety.
and i think i also made a standalone version.
if so it should be here on the forum somewhere.
