Title: flooder lammer or real meadiaforce ????
Post by: ((UKSN))shad_dow on 29 June, 2004, 11:36:51
lo all

right anumber of hubowners i tak to have been having
a flooder lamer in the hubs , using this tag and ip >

ip = 38.118.154.18

so they/me banned it , then i get a meeassgefrom a hubowner to ban ip range -38.118. to 38.118.16 , we had to ban the whole range from 38.118.154.0 to 38.118.154.255

but my Q is is the tag a real nmdc2 tag and is it meadia force? or some sad ass lammer , done a few whois on the ips some come back as unkown and others like this ip- .118.154.18 come back like this in whois , (posted  whois below this post)

Do they share lots of albums? but u cannot get any of there files??
1 way to solve this is use dc++cmd 3 or above as it has the small file check function included, so if it carnt get an nfo file or jpg ect it will kick. be warned tho i myself have ran dc++k cmd 3 and i downloaded an .exe file that contained a virus on my small files check.......
Hope this helps.......

Protowall is a bit trcky to install.

go to the dir where protowall is installed and you should see the sys.file and a inf.file.

open winexplorer and go to the dir rightclick on the inf. file and install it.

even better thing to do is to go to the homepage and then below the d/l button is a link to the helpsection read this carefully.

it comes with pictures so it should be easy going on from there.

protowall can't be compaired with the average firewall.
it uses a driver on the interface which has internet acces.
installing proto only installs the driver 2 your system, after that you have 2 install the driver (protocol) on the correct interface.
check the manual pages on the site from protowall, it shows brilliantly how this is done.
no way i can explain this in words the clear way they show it with the pics they use on the site.
doing it this way with the driver may sound weird but the result is that it blocks faster then any other firewall as it's done as soon as posible.

a small compairison.
if you use a script which runs on ptokax 2 block those company's has the next result.
package comes in on the interface, the interface sends it 2 the firewall, the firewall checks and sends it 2 ptokax, ptokax sends it 2 the script, the script drops the user.

a normal firewall:
the interface recieves the package, the interface sends it 2 the firewall, the firewall checks and drops.

now protowall:
the interface receives the package, protowall runs on this interface and drops it.

you can see that this uses the least amount of resources posible.
