I was just thinking how they can crank out new linux kernels every week, but we have no new ptokax. Would it be possible to make it an open source project? That would lift the load off ptazcek, and speed up progress, maybe even allow it to be ported to linux. What language is Ptokax written in anyway?
C++ with Borland.
PtokaX was originally open source and hosted on SourceForge. I'm certain why it was closed.

i think ptaczek can develop fast, only his communcating skills could improve, since we didn't hear from him since a long time.
And yes i know everyone is busy etc etc. But i can't understand why someone can't even post 1 time a month just too let us, that he is still alive.
(argh, my english, went below zero.)
Yea, an update, or a new beta version would be nice....
Is ptaczek still working on it?
I gave him several e-mail's with questions (since i was programming p2p client such as dc++ but then a ptokax based p2p client so it would work better and have internal guard software for riaa ect) but never got any reply or whatever.
Also i posted a question to him here on the board wich did not get any reply at all.
** thread of the question ** (http://board.univ-angers.fr/thread.php?threadid=2156&boardid=6&sid=051d84e31ffc1651f269396589bcc845)
Is he forgotten all about Ptokax project.
;-(
Hope he is still continuing ptokax cause it is the best there is!

Sorry, but *it* is not the best. You shoudl try xHub or something along those lines. The only reason I can see that people still use the aging Ptokax is for the support found on these boards. (btw, the *best* hub software is verlihub, try running a 6000 user hub constantly on Ptokax)
yup you're right this forum makes it a pleasure to use good ole ptokax..compared to be a lonesome verlihub cowboy ;)
