Title: Serious Hub Problems
Post by: COCNBALLER11 on 22 August, 2004, 05:10:04
I was running PtokaX, and I run ZoneAlarm. The error that would come up when say I left the hub running all night was something like socket 1055 error, not sure on the exact number but it was a socket error. Also the pop up that was informing me on the error had come up like 4 times. And the logs provided me with no useful info. Another thing was that only the admins/OPs were able to access the hub, to fix this problem I tried making it a registered users only hub which didn't do anything. Probably the stragest thing was that all the people were being redirected to some random Latvian hub, and I had no redirect address or any of that.

Any and all help would be great.

never use zonealarm when running dc.
it screws up things badly, and some versions have a extremely serious leak.

So what should I be running instead? I've heard Norton's firewall is supposed to be a good one, also can the firewall be a reason for all of my users getting redirected?

There are multiple results searching ' firewall ' in this forum,
as for the redirect I think it could be a misconfigured firewall but it all depends how the redirect is involed in the 1st place ..

another thing on the redirect is that I didn't even have an adress in the redirect addi, and than all my users got redirected to something called The Latvian Hub, but also can I have links to the things you guys have suggested.

PS
Thanks for the help guys.
