Just wanting to know if there is any thought into making ptokax (brilliant hub software) to work with mysql?
This would be just the most amazing feature as i want to link it to a phpnuke userlist.
Im not sure how it would work with the 2 as I think phpnuke encrypts the passwords.
I currently havemade the phpnuke write to both databases, but now this is becomuing a problem with 700 + users and administration.
Is there someone I can ask, if this is not the right place?
would be nice option for ptokax..
i use dch:pro hub at the moment that use a mysql database and running on win xp.
i also made a modification to my forum that the username/pass is stored in the hubs memberstable when a user login in the forum.
if a mod login the mod cp he get operator status in the hub, if a admin login in the admin cp he get admin status in the hub..
currently the hub is developement beta status, not ready for big amount of users yet..
hey that sounds very interesting.
Is there a way I can see what you have done and help test as the username and password feature in important for my fanclub site.
Do you run 2 username and password databases or just the one?
well, i'm not sure if this is the proper topic to discuss about other hubsoftware, but most likely in near future the hub wil support the lua scripting, so if its not ok to talk about it here, they can move/split the topic.
current status of the hub developement is still in early beta, also the webadministration is in its beta stage, both are fully functioning.
basic setup like it is now:
hub running on win xp
database running mysql 4.*
webadministration running here local on apache with php 4.*
remote host of the webadministration/mysql database is possible if your host support remote connections.
in my test setup i added the hub database tables into the mysql database of my forum (vBulletin)
i modified the loginscript so it add the username/and password into the hubs users table in the forum database.
passwords are stored md5 hashed.
if you like to read more, you can visit the developement forums here:
dch:pro hubsoft (http://btpro.altervista.org/)
you need lua 5.0 2 be able 2 use mysql from the scripts.
it's on the wish list 2 be added.
but pta never said yes or no on the requests on this part.
verlihub has mysql support and uses lua 5.0 and it can take huge amounts of users while staying rock solid.
plop
thanks Plop.
what lua are we using on ptokax?
I love the scripts that get done here.
at the moment PtokaX is using Lua 4 ..
