Title: can't connect to a hub...
Post by: NemeziS on 17 September, 2004, 13:39:38
Hi! This is my connecting log if I'm banned (my IP blocked/banned).

[15:17:21] *** Connecting to server.sun.ru:412...
[15:17:21] *** Connected
[15:17:21] Your ASS is banned!
[15:17:21] *** Disconnected

I want a script to make a user (with IP ***.***.***.*** disabled in the script) seem that there are no such hub at all.

[15:35:37] *** Connecting to server.sun.ru:412...
[15:35:38] *** Host unreachable...

or

[15:35:37] *** Connecting to server.sun.ru:412...
[15:35:38] *** Connection time out...

Is it possible?

It wouldnt be possible as mutor says, plus you would have to be connected to the hub for the script to send a message, so you would know that the hub is there and working.

Damn im bored at work today :P

hrmm what is the IP address was blocked using Protowall or Peerguardian. what message would the user get in that case? i believe the program will block the IP before ptokax can accept it....

anyone who can answer please reply ;)

I wanted user with IP which I don't want to connect to my hub
get a message like:

[15:35:37] *** Connecting to server.sun.ru:412...
[15:35:38] *** Host unreachable...

or

[15:35:37] *** Connecting to server.sun.ru:412...
[15:35:38] *** Connection time out...

Do u think it is possible?

hehe so i guess thats the solution?

NemeziS get either Protowall or PeerGuardian. then go to edit the list of IPs, and add the IP you wish to block. Then REMOVE the IP from ptokax ban list. and when the user tries to connect, the Firewall will block the IP and give a "Host Unreachable" message

cheers Mutor ;)

Thanx, guys!
I thought about firewall. It's the most simple way.

Now I'm happy!!! :) Thanx! :)))
