Title: Script for LAN for active and pasive

HI there,


i am in a LAN and we use 10.0.10.xxx and we want to make possible the connection between pasive and pasive ?
I mean we have this configuration: IP, MASK, Gateway. and we want to have posibility to download from each other

go active, or dl by ftp

passive cant dl from passive thru dc++ yand the sever has nothing 2 do with this, thats why its caled DirectConnect

They are probably set to passive for outside hub connection (required for *most* LANs).

I recommend using two clients: one for external (favorite client will do) and one for internal (BCDC++). BCDC++ is the best choice so you can restrict the typical 100mbps connection to something more reasonable (less impact on the average user's computer). BCDC++ also permits multiple instances, so it can be used along with DC++.

You may also want to disable "Safe and compressed transfers" on the LAN client. This will chews too  much processing power with negligible benifits.

thx guys..

but fortunatlly dunno how and why.. i use ptokax 0.333 debug 15:25 and if they set thier clients to activ they are all actives :)

so no problemo..  like i said i have in my lan those configuartion: IP, mask, and some of then have gateway, dns1 and dns2.. and its work for everyone.. just to put the clients in active mode :D

If you're on a LAN with many users, you are probably behind a router with NAT for external connections (schools and businesses).

I doubt any IT admin would allow their users to control port forwarding or any part of the router for that matter, so these users MUST be passive if they are going to download from external users.

My point? I was just guessing the situation so we could effectively solve their problem.
