Title: Hiding share amount
Post by: freelunch on 11 October, 2004, 23:42:39
Is there a script that hides the amount each user shares or just reports that they are sharing 0 GB?  I'm running a trivia hub and this would help out a lot.  If this script doesn't exist, I'd like to make a formal request.  :D

would eat a lot of b/w, but it can be done easily. it can only hide share amount from userlist, but every myinfos have 2 be changed, so this would b a resource and a b/w hog.

hmmm one of my op's asked me for something similar today..
he wants a command to hide his share for certain levels and no search results or connection to be passed to users...

*edit*
And about the bandwith consumption...
The hub sends the info about someones share to the users, so the only thing it has to do is edit that info

The MyInfo String sent to users that contains the share amount cannot be blocked by a script .. so  b/w has to be used to send the new ammended share amount to the user.

Search results (unless im wrong) cannot be blocked for active users, as they are sent directly to the users client......

The funny thing is, the op that asked me this is always passive...
So that wouldn't be a problem..
all the info of the passive users go through the hub i believe...
So if it only would work for passive users i wouldn't have a problem with that
because i want it to be available to OP's only :D
and i want it to be able to be triggered by a command like
!hideshare

And if the op's type that their share will be hidden and the hub wouldn't pass search results for that user

This is a function used in YnHub, wher Ops are able to use cmd ?hideshare

Don't understand why, must be esier to use an OP-client and dont share anything
