Ok, within the router setup (normally thru a web interface) you should see a sub-menu called 'PORT FORWARDING' or something similar. Within this you should be able to forward certain ports to certain machines on your network (im assuming you have more than 1 pc as you have a router)
For the Pc that you are using Dc++ with, enter a port number (ie 8001 for 192.168.1.xxx) then in Dc++ settings enter that same port in the port box, using your external ip address not the 192.168.1.xxx

okey i'll try to guide you...
If your Router is somehow managable by Telnet,WEB based or any other way?

You need to Port Forward it mean the outside port of the router will be the same as the internal port!
Outside IP + port = internal IP+port
it will result in forwarding any incoming request to PORT from the internet FORWARDED to the internal IP.

In the Active section:
put in the PORT (emtpy=random)
(what ever you want) something like 3800,666,545...Be carefull not to put used port like 80 or 139...ect'  ?(
In the IP: leave it empty

Damn you n1ck you beat me to it!  :D
