Title: Textbot converted to LUA 5 please!!
Post by: blackwings on 28 February, 2005, 05:14:57
Can anyone convert this script? I would have done it if it wasn't for the file handleing in the script :P = -- texter bot by plop
-- thx 2 chilla for the faster routine for opening the files
-- shows text files from a folder named text.
-- doesn't mather what prefix it used.
-- if the file excist it shows.

Bot = "#Texter"
FDFolder = "text"

function Main()
   frmHub:RegBot(Bot)
end

function DataArrival(user, data)
   data=strsub(data,1,strlen(data)-1)
   if( strsub(data, 1, 1) == "<" ) then
      s,e,cmd = strfind(data,"%b<>%s+(%S+)")
      cmd = strsub(cmd, 2,strlen(cmd))
      if readfrom(FDFolder.."/"..cmd..".txt") then
         showtext(user, cmd)
         return 1
      end
   elseif(strsub(data, 1, 4) == "$To:") then
      s,e,cmd = strfind(data,"$To:%s+%S+%s+From:%s+%S+%s+$%b<>%s+(%S+)")
      cmd = strsub(cmd, 2,strlen(cmd))
      if readfrom(FDFolder.."/"..cmd..".txt") then
         showtext(user, cmd)
         return 1
      end
   end
end

function showtext(user, file)
local handle = openfile(FDFolder.."/"..file..".txt", "r")
local contents = gsub(read(handle, "*a"),strchar(10), "\r\n")
closefile (handle)
user:SendPM(Bot, "\r\n"..contents.."\r\n|")
end

function showtextold(user, cmd)
   lines = "\r\n\r\n"
   readfrom("text/"..cmd..".txt")
   while 1 do
      local line = read()
      if line == nil then
         readfrom()
         break
      end
      lines = lines..line.."\r\n"
   end
   user:SendPM(Bot, lines.." |")
end
Title: Prefix?
Post by: NeoUltimicia on 04 March, 2005, 12:54:18
tested on: PtokaX 0.3.3.0 Build 16.04

is seems this script wasn't acting crrectly...
if I type for example:
+releases OR !releases, I get these messages:

[15:46] text/+releases.txt not found...
[15:46] +releases
[15:46] text/!releases.txt not found...
[15:46] !releases

however, If I type ONLY releases (without prefix) then I get the text file displayed.

could you please fix that?

also. would you please fix the text order? so if anyone missed the spelling, will diaplay as this:

[15:46] +releases
[15:46] text/+releases.txt not found...
[15:46] !releases
[15:46] text/!releases.txt not found...

This seems a bit nicer.
thanks for your time...

Script above updated...

+ I put the prefix back in, dunno why it's needed. :P
- Removed message, "if the file exist it shows" as it was originally.
the script works now :]
