Title: none of my scripts work
Post by: Cosmos on 22 May, 2005, 01:09:28
i think its because im using 0.3.3.0 17.08

should i be using TD4 if i want scripts to work? (seems like most ppl are making scripts for TD4 not the one i have)

heres an example of the errors i get from a bunch of random scripts i downloaded:
[19:08] Syntax ...Desktop\0.3.3.0.b17.08.nt.dbg\scripts\requestbot.lua:11: attempt to call global `strchar' (a nil value)
[19:08] No syntax errors in script file spinthebottle.lua
[19:08] No syntax errors in script file TopicBot.lua
[19:08] Syntax ...is\Desktop\0.3.3.0.b17.08.nt.dbg\scripts\DiceBot.lua:230: attempt to call global `getn' (a nil value)

This is lua4... PtokaX 17.xx uses LUA5. There are 2 sections on this forum, for 4 and 5. You can search at the forum, there are a lot of scripts converted already...

hmm, well do what suits u best, but there are quite a "LOT" of differences, thats for sure, but u have to be either a scripter, or a user that knows ptokax well, to notice some of the changes !

Yeah like it's now just about impossible to flood / crash.  Also holds about a 40% more users. :)
