Title: Hub problems :/
Post by: energy05 on 10 June, 2005, 04:20:54
I'll start out saying that i am a nub to this :D ... but you need to start some where.

Okay here we go,

I want to make this hub, for me and my friends, I am using PtokaX 17.05...

I got a no-ip address, and the port is set to 411, then I start the hub and go in to my dc++, I?ll try connecting to address, but it wont, it says that the other "computer" don't gives any response :/

What am I doing wrong?

Make sure the no-ip address is updated to your Ip address. If you have a router, you have to connect to your internal Ip address, or local host 127.0.0.1

you dont upload, you update it, get the Duc no-ip client in the no-ip website

As you have a router, you will have to forward at least one port to run your hub in..(411 preferably) --> //www.portforward.com

you will never be able to connect to your hub through the no-ip address, always your internal Ip, or local host, only users outside your lan can connect through the address

Hmmm okay, I got some way, by my self =) ... but still haves some trouble..

I followed this guide: http://firewalling.com/personalfirewalls/sygatepersonalfirewallpro.htm

I think that the no-ip due is running right...
but, it still says the same.. :/ ..

so there is clearly something I have done wrong.

..Hmmm I think it is in the firewall part, course I am not all sure where to write what.. :/

is your dc client running in active mode or passive.
if it's in passive mode you need 2 setup your modem/router 2 support active mode (check the site again which [AT]conejodelmal gave you).
and on ptokax you gotta do the same, just here 411 and only tcp.
if this isn't working yet then your wasting time on your software firewall, as the traffic stops in your modem/router.

dc clients can run in passive and active mode.
hub's can only work in active mode.
