Title: Calculate MP3 files' Bitrate
Post by: HappyTheMan on 25 August, 2006, 15:42:28
HI Everyone!!!  :D
One user in my hub asked me if we could make something to know the bitrate of a file before donwloading it. OUCH!
Do you think it is possible ? ??? ??? ??? If yes, it would be great  8) if you could give me the key lines of such a script ;)
Thank you very much!!!

I think it is not possible, because we know just the size of the song, but the length of it no. And at least it would be necessary, because a 10MB file can be 1 min long @ the highest bitrate, or 10 min long @ the worst bitrate. So IMHO it's impossible.

And there is ablso bitdepth and sampling frequency.
