Title: firewall blocking of mac addy
Post by: Roy on 02 December, 2003, 12:18:29
Hi i run a Sygate personal firewall pro.

I want to get rid of a certain user that uses dynamic addresses i guess, so i want to ban his mac adress in my firewall.

but it seems my traffic log in the firewall only shows my routers mac adress? well i have to admit i haven't been looking very deep into the subject yet, but lots of clever brains here so why not just ask here  :P

it keeps the forum alive as well  hehehehe

cheers!

The MAC for the firewall is just in case you have a network, it can allow certain MAC addresses to access to your computer in your internal network.
You wont see a persons MAC over the internet.

Ok thanks, guess that is both good and bad. Good for the privacy, but bad if u want to get rid of a bugger that changes ip all the time.
