Title: users who don't register
Post by: imb on 18 November, 2007, 02:41:04
Does such a script exist which permanently removes users who wont register? For example if a unregged user has been logged in for a total of more than 3 days they should be perm banned?

Note: Please don't make this script unless it would be no hassle or you think other people would use it. I think DC is dead so there's little point, I'm just interested in whether such a script exists.

Cheers, imb

Actually this option is available in the latest beta version of DiXBot 1.2
It has a customreg module available which notifies user about compulsory registration and the time remaining to register.
This module has option to kick/ban/disconnect user if he does not register before the preset time.

See the post on this thread http://board.ptokax.ath.cx/index.php?topic=7422.msg70955 (http://board.ptokax.ath.cx/index.php?topic=7422.msg70955)

A standalone script for this function not seen here.

Nor do I, there are similar script that kick unregistered users after a specified time.
They could easily be modified to your time frame and the action changed to ban.

I could likely modify myself, although I couldn't even find such a script after searching on the forum.

QuoteI do think it's a bad idea to perm ban for this, the banlist will grow exponentially in
a very short time on a busy hub. A lengthy timeban or redirect to localhost may be
the better way to go.

Maybe, the main issue is that there are some strange souls in my hub that have been there unregistered for many months despite being unable to download anyway. It could also be viewed as removing the inactive.

realone - Thanks, I'll give it a try.
