I am seeing higher percetages of fakers/lamers than ever. I can let my hub fill to three hundred, ans then after removing all hacked clients, fake shares, ect i end up with around 100 good users if im lucky. I only require 1 gig and 1 slot to enter but they fake 100 or more gigs anyway. I can keep some of them out with the patched dc++K client, and I can find the rest with black dc, but then im kicking everyone out and I do not want a small hub. my internet connection will only accomidate 300 or so users and I used to be able to get it full of mostly decent users. But now its gotten to the point where the bad users outnumber good ones 3 to 1. I would like some input from you all on this matter. Should I just clean out all the lamers and hope the hub grows? (that doesnt seem to work so far) or should I lighten up under the belief that some fakers are sharing after all? I am totally open to idea's if anyone has any because if I enforce all standerd dc hub rules I end up with a nearly empty hub.

yep quality goes before quantity.
seen a hub go from 350 to 75 users just because a.i. was launched.
these 75 were folowing the hub rules.
better 2 have a low amount of users who folow the rules so ppl can download from them then lots of users who disrespect the rules and where no1 can or hardly can download from.
growing in users takes time, specialy if you have strickt rules.
some users might complain about that but most love it.

Yeah I suppose you guys are right. Quality is the only answer here. I guess we can thank whoever decided to write the code work for leeching clients. There appears to be a coding war going on between those who code for cheating clients and those who code for hub operators clients. Ive been kicking out the fakers rather than banning them because for one, there are way too many of them and ip's build up in permban way too fast, and also many ip's of course change, and ALSO Ive noticed that some fakers dont always log in set up to fake. somtimes i'll see the same user with real share amount who was a faker before. well, thanks for your opinions and stuff and well, dc is still way better than all the other "gnutella/bearshare/kazaa'like" programs but it bums me out that dc doesnt seem to be as good as it once was.
as more and more ppl are starting 2 use it it's logical that there also are more fakers.
and some of them learn that it doesn't work 2 fake.

Yup and also Im afraid that if too many start using it we could eventualy be faced with the choice of either allowing it or closeing our hubs, or keeping hubs open to the ten people who use regular non cheating clients. but then again I prolly think too much :P

so more fakers see more fakers fly out so more see it's useless 2 fake.
