Title: oDC 5.31 problem
Post by: Datmats on 10 January, 2004, 01:52:02
Hi!

I have problem with oDC 5.31 - there is incompability with tags - like in 5.3 version. For 5.3 there were 'mod' - do anybody have 'mod' for 5.31??

Thanks

Im looking for that link too, i have seen such users with modded o5.31 but can't see anyone right now when i need one lol ;(

And i hope the new Ptokax will let that new tag in and not just the modded one, and that all script writers here updates their scripts to support the new oDC tag. Cause right now there are troubles in many nmdc and yhubs regarding that tag, ppl must op vip or reg to be let in with the new tag.

Roy

*UPDATE  I have pm'ed a user running the new mod, i will be back when i got it or got a negative reply  lol.

*GOT IT! :D

Shouldn't we adjust our scripts to accept the new tag?
What if a great new client comes up?
Should they be forced to have <++ in their tags also?
I have decided that if I try to get into a hub that does not support the new tag, then the hub isn't serious enough for me.

Odc always nice and Cool, And Releases Before Any one Tries it...if the person who makes Odc Reads This then make a BETA Team lol, then you can correct the mistakes....

Maybe I should send this as a mail to him....

yes... those glitches r really annoying...

so now i know 4 of them:
type empty space in chat and get runtime error... (user reported & tested)
get runtime error every hour =] (user reported)
trying to get filelist from favorites ends with runtime error (user reported)
and !getbanlist error... (user reported)

nice set of glitches :D

Don't know if ALL the errors are gone, but I have used oDC5.31 for some days now without any errors.
HOWEVER!!! I discovered that DC++0.305 makes it unstable getting filelists but it works with DC++0.306

i agree, but i still thnk they shud have come to all the hub software forums etc, and posted about they were changing it, so we all wud have had some notice, i dont have to worry neithe does guibs, both auto setup new tags ;)

but as for some other scripts this wont happen, so, they shud have told all the scripters first....

yep, but seems it was anounced, just where i have no idea.
it came as a total surprise 2 me.
i have dedicated routines for every client/tag so i had some work 2 do.

Opera's intention to change the format of the oDC tag was well known and discussed in the DC++ Dev Hub (dchub://wza.digitalbrains.com:1416/) at least a month (probably more) before he released 5.31

That's how I found out, and that's how a certain other Hubsoft  supported the format before 5.31 was even released....

doesn't change it from being a stupid move, hub developers indeed did get that info but us scripters didn't.
they should have placed a banner on there own site @ least.
and what about a notiche in there changelog???

The DC++ Dev hub is open to the public... anyone who wants to can join that hub. It is not restricted to Hub Developers.

Anyone who was in that hub saw Opera running a client that sported this tag for a long time:

I agree that a post on his Web-Site and a note in the changelog should have been done though.
