Title: Release Bot
Post by: Flux on 16 March, 2008, 13:47:03
Hi Guys

I have tried converting a script "ReleaseTiny Times Mod.lua"
as I am wanting/looking for a release bot script that will work in
PtokaX 0.4.0.0. I do know there is a release bot coming soon part
of a new all-in-one script, but just wondering if anyone can convert
one or make one please.

The release bot is for new promo releases which is capable
of handling over 3000 releases & can check for duplicates
& can do a wipe for upto 300 releases.
Can you help

Ps I am also using all-in-one script called DixiBot

DiXBot is already having a release / request bot, enable it in DiXBoT config--> Module Manager
which should be more than sufficient for you.

Otherwise search here for freshstuff3 5.0 by bastya_elvtars  which is compatible with latest PtoKaX

Check here http://lawmaker.no-ip.org/modules/newbb/ (http://lawmaker.no-ip.org/modules/newbb/)

PS : Attached here the latest freshstuff3_50_RC5, for more update check  bastya_elvtars site

thanx for the info I just found out
from the creator of DiXBoT that
a new request & release bot is in testing
phase atm. so I will be waiting patiently
for it to be released in the update of DiXBoT.

I would advise to others who wish to use the latest
PtokaX to use DiXBoT as its qite an amazing
all-in-one script. It does take time to understand &
get used to the features this has ;)

Do a update and see, it is available, but being developed... ok
btw, did u check the module manger for inactive modules ?
You can try urself this module now @ the DixBoT test hubs

demo.dixbot.com:1209       DiXBoT v2.0 Build 2664
testhub.dixbot.com:1209.   DiXBoT v2.0 Build 2661

Both hubs are having release/request modules.
Check it out yourself.

Great script but is there an easy way (without knowing much scripting) to remove some of the release options? I want it for just music release/request. I also want to keep database permanently.

Thanks

Delete all categories except music. What do you mean by permanent database?

Thanks for your fast reply.

I wasn't sure if there was a way to control how long items are kept in database? As a user adds new music I would like it to be kept until I (Owner) deletes it etc. This is for a private hub with a policy to add unique music to remain a member. Also, when a user adds a request and it is filled, how long before it shows up as filled? And finally, how can you set time to post new releases in main chat? Sorry for all the trouble...

TIA!
M

Well, the database size is unlimited. If a request gets fulfilled, the user gets notified imediately if online, or upon next connection to the hub.
The time to set new releases looks something like this:
Code: [Select]
WhenAndWhatToShow = {
  ["20:49"]="new",
  ["20:50"]="all",
  ["00:20"]="new",
}

In your case, the only category is music, so music = all here. :-)

Thanks again! Almost worked out now. I noticed the Right Click option to add a release does not fill the request. I have to add with command, !addrel <requestnumber> <type> <name> Is this correct?

have had problems to fulfill request with RC,  but now I see how to do it manually, but, when I try to put type as its shown in "show request" it wont fulfill, it wants the short name, not the cat name.
Same when I add a release, in MC it shows the short name not the cat name, would be nice if the cat name would be used all around for users and in MC to make it easier :)
Masters and maybe ops know the short name but I dont think users are so in to it so they know the difference, even if they maybe look at all cat registered...not meaning to be harsh, but I think its kinda like that =)

This is what !showcats is for. BTW the problem with rightclicks is absolutely right, I am gonna try to remember this issue too. :-)

Sounds nice.
I know that the command is for that  :), but ordinary users I think goes directly on what they see, in this case the cat name when request has been added, but I solved that problem, short name and cat name will be registered as the same here =) We have some "old" users in our hub (parents and relatives) so I just want to make it as easy as possible for them since their not born with a puter in their hand   ;D

Regards and good work

Edit1: when adding a rel with command !addrel nr type name and user is online, they get info about the request being filled in pm from bot.
when adding with command as above, and user is offline, and then they come online the user gets this:
[21:48:06] <-Releases&Requests-> 2

tried meny times and only a "2" appeares in pm from the freshstuff bot to the user who has made the req, and it doesnt matter how many req there are made

cheers

I'll check for this as well.

I'll check for this as well.

Same here. Bot says Post it Memo 2 with no filled request when user is offline on connect. Works fine when user "is" online. It will delete the request as filled.

Also what else can be added to this. It shows new releases. Can I make it show new requests?

WhenAndWhatToShow = {
  ["09:00"]="new",

TIA Again great work!

M

P.S. If I can ever get to your site, I hope I can donate$

The site is back up. Please report all issues, each in its own separate topic, thanks.
As for donations: donate for PtokaX instead.
