Basic Script Request

Hello Lua fanatics.

I have the feeling that a lot of scripts you guys make have to much options.
What i would like to have is a all in one script that has just the basic needs to run a hub with DC++k CDM as security

1)The Random Intros and Outros by Chaggydawg.
2)The Anti Mldonkey from Nightlitch.
3)The Timed Messages from Announcer Bot v1.5 by gg3k
(not the User/ OP announcements)
4)The Sneaky anti advertising bot by plop. (hehe)
5)The Mass Message by Phatty.

Put that together and i think thats all we need for a safe hub, if you use DC++k CDM as Security.

The share/slots/ratio check is done by Ptokax.
The Fake share, Badclients, Forbidden files, Junkshare, and Filelist checks are done by DC++k CDM.
The script keeps Mldonkey and advertising out, the hubrules and hubinfo is done with the timed messages.
And you have a mass message for hubrestart or system reboot.

Am i right or am i right !

All in one scripts are usually retarded. Just use the individual scripts.

Just want a script for hub starters, like i am (was)
Been searching for weeks for good scripts.
Most of the scriptpackages are much to complicated for a beginner.
They have way to much functions that a hub beginner dont understand.
Like, why always the Min share, Min slots , and so on in
the scripts ?
Thats allready in Ptokax !
There's no need for Forbidden files, Fake Share, and so on in the scripts.
Thats done by DC++k CDM
Iam running 4 scripts.
Announcer Bot, Anti Mldonkey, Sneeky Anti Advertising,
and Mass Message.
Thats all !
Like i said announcer bot is perfect for the timed messages but it should have ransom announcements.
Why dont put them together ?
If its done right, it can be written in a way that nothing
have to be configured by the user.

Name it a basic script for hubstarters.

Ok. That's a whole new script that may or may not be what other hub owners want. Still no reason to add  Anti Mldonkey and Sneaky anti advertising in with those. Maybe you should reconsider your request.

The Hubsoft is Ptokax
The Hubsecurity is DC++ k CDM
The basic script should have functions and protection that those 2 dont have, no more no less !
Its a whole new approach of writing a lua script.
(i think)
No fancy stuff, no double stuff, no configuration stuff, put it in the ptokax scriptfolder and you'r ready for your first hub.
Send 2 txt files with the basic script, Hubinfo.txt and Hubrules.txt.
Tell them where to put them, and that they can modify them and thats it.
The script will do the rest.
Why dont you send a good basic configured DC++ k CDM with it also. (Nightlitch did with clientshielt)
Oke, i agree there will be some more trouble on your way as Hub owner, like double I.P and some more that
i dont even know of.
But as a just starting hubowner i can tell you that those
f*****ng mldonkey makes you nervous, just like it did to me. hehe
There are a lot of anti mldonkey scripts that dont work.
Makes you more nervous. hehe
This the only thing i couldnt fix with DC++ k CDM
B.T.W i used the new Robocop, and my computer slowed down like hell, its way to heavy man.
Thats what i mean with basic: simple, light.
Iam holding on to my point of view about what this basic script should have.
1)a good anti mldonkey
2)random announcements
3)2 Timed messages (set on 30 minutes)
4)Sneaky Anti advertising from Plop (great idea)
5)Mass message, for reboot or hub restart
I really respect what you can do with lua, its great.
But i think its going to far over the edge.
I say in the name of all hub starters, Go back to basic !

seems like you have the right motivation,
and you have all the scripts on hand
My suggestion to you would be to,
learn how to script yourself,...no kidding and im not insulting you,
but I would go to the how to's on this forum and
even go to plops webpage for the how to's so you can
learn how to script and create it yourself using
the ones that you like already.
