I would like a bot to display all the groups and a teams in a table.

Hear comes the tricky bit.

I would all so like it to be able to auto update it self so when a team is knocked out ect, and past it to main chat every time.

Will this be able to be done or is it  impossible ???

thanx

It would be nice 2 have a bot updates all the users on the tournament as most of the users r European too but it aint gonna be possible 2 auto-update coz where is it gonna get the info from??
You'll have 2 update it manually.

Looks good  :D

thanx for the info :)

chill

guess you would have to do it manually cause I couldn't find a site where it shows like

games:

[date] 1 vs. 2
- - -
[date] 2 vs. 3
4 - 0
...

teams:
1 IN
2 OUT
3 IN

if one could find that on one site then you could make a bot download the info every hour or half hour.

else to parse the socceraddicts site, is a bit more socket intense, cause you would need to download to each group the games, makes 4 sites, and while using a socket you cannot use the hub.

[NL]Pur

But something that whould also be nice is when everyone can fill in their own scores too. They score they think the outcome is going tobe.

chill

haha more like a bet bot,  and then the master can fill the real results manually, nah better get them form a site , or people will adjust the resulst according to their bets.

I would do it when I find a good site, unless everyone is fine with 10 sec. of a dead hub. Or maybe someone will make it able to add the results manually.

but  I think its a good idea,

[NL]Pur

lol,

i mend as a xtra to the parsing scores from a site thing.
and then compare results ppl thought it whould be and generete a top list of ppl who we're right about it.

But since today are the first games i don't think we could write all of that this fast.

Herodes

So all we need is a publicly available list of the results in a form and format  that can be grabbed with lua and the "socks magic" that a few people in this forum have knowledge of ...

can this be a text file maybe ?
does it really have to be publicly available for that ?

I ask these things because I see quite a number being interested in this ....
My idea was for the ppl that are interested, is to organise themselves ... ;D

One can host online somewhere 4 txt files and ppl can be sending the results ....
Someone will be responsible for the updates of Group A
another for Group B and so on ...
The script could then be running on any Hub simultaneously and receive the updates from the above txt ....
(c'mon if u are really interested in this I think this can arranged by someone ...2 weeks can be tolerated ...)

Getting the data from the web is essentially getting them from a publicly available file ..

Just a thought I havent looked at the subject  in detail..
but I think it can be achieved ....

could use this link for updates in the bot

http://www.voetbal.nl/domains/voetbal/pages/EK2004_wedstrijden.asp?action=&id=

You could lett this page be saved in the txt directorie of your scripts directorie and let it be read back by the texter of plop!

Good Luck.
