Ive kicked out and reported several users to IWF for sharing childpornography thanx to the script Death posted in this tread.

Anyway, this is just one guys opinions.
And my opinions are very colored by the fact that I have 2 young daughter that I love, and therfore takes a firmer stand against childporn, then just mentioning it with a fotnote in my motd.

I ju8st do not get why there aren't any sites collecting TTH files of them and generating an ADLSearch.xml on a daily basis. However, I think ed2k has more child porn, as when i searched for Lolita (the Kubrick one) my client hanged for a couple mins... On DC 90% of the results was this movie. (It's another topic that some 'hubowners' ban people for this as well - even on 5000+ hubs.)

The best way of dealing with it is to BAN porn from your hubs..

If you are in a hub that allows porn the  DO NOT download anything that you suspect to be illegal porn ( even for checking )  
You would be Braking the LAW and you Could end up with a long term behind bars ..

I agree.. the only way to rid your hub of childporn is not to allow porn of any kind. It only attracts these sickos.  A Strict ban on Porn in your hub will do the trick. You cant allow porn and expect not to find childporn thats a total waste of time and ops time. You cant pick and choose wot porn u allow. In the case of childporn its all or nothing.  There is no point in spying on pms it wont do any good wotsoever especially if u allow porn. And wots this about TRADING why in the hell would u let that sort of crap go on in your hub? that i dont understand.. anyway DC is for sharing not trading its wot i believe im sure most will agree...

I am thinking of creating a script that holds info on these TTH strings and generates ADLSearch.xml on a regular basis, maybe it can also be e-mailed using the PXWSA library.

its gonna be hard to filter out all sick files and crap
im on direct connect for about 6? to 7 years and ive seen allot sick things and i will use any thing to keep direct connect clean no mather what others think of it

I don't see how that helps at all, it's pretty impossible to enforce that rule unless you have 100s of active op's or a reg only hub.

To me it's not necessarily to do with invading other people's privacy, I just wonder why on Earth do you waste your time reading what others think they're writing in privacy?

I don't think reading every private message that is written in the hub is an efficient way of moderating whether users share illegal porn. If 999/1000 PMs are unrelated to sick porn, that's an awful lot of irrelevant private messages you're reading.
If you're THAT concerned about childporn, why don't you just close your hub?

I don't want to get bogged down in a never ending argument, I'd just like to state it's painfully obvious that in the majority of cases the primary reason for hub owners to use scripts like these is simply to snoop and be nosey, despite how they try and justify it publicly (and possibly deluding even themselves). I certainly think that there's cases of that here, and when hubowners state otherwise, it does nothing but insult my intelligence! They're fooling no one...

I run a music hub with about 220++ users.
On an average day there is about 10-20 pm's aday.
(Not counting away msgs to mainbot.)
Wich about half is slotbegging and the rest is trading.
And I dont need to read more then the first 1 or 2 lines in the pm to see if the trade is about music or other stuff.
And it might not be the most efficient way, but as it is its the only way.

Rather than spy on all PMs, if your worried about these things, find/make/request a pm filter similar to a main chat bad word filter .. so that only specific words are searched for and thus only these can be seen by ops/hub owners.  

Sure beats invading the privacy of people who (stupidly) may think their hub owner has the morals and respect to leave private messages as private.

It already does exist(although is probably embedded in an anti advert script) , and its quite easy for an experienced scripter.
