well for me, i think the whole point of forums is to learn while having a bit fun, if u stick completely to the same thing it can be very boring, and i probably would get sick of lua completely,

i like to sit down, read thru what ive missed, while u can be serious while thinking ahh now thats a good idea, there a nonsense post that can be funny u can have a laugh, n still read down and keep on track, if it was all serious, it would get very boring, and it losing lack of communication between scripters and n00bs, as some scripts stick to the script section and not offtopic, so they dont answer offtopic post always, as in script section they do, i still think it looks tidy, and it doesnt harm the forum with a few post having a laugh

^just my opinion

As for the link, i always just move it without leaving link, i they post it again i just delete without warning.......

later,,
Resistance is futile!

but for me i'm growing tired to read all the post, please write me this and that script, then you know that there is atleast a dussin of them on the forum already.. this is because it is hard to find them...

like if someone writes a script on request, then there is a bug, he fix it, and a new one is discovered.. and then it's a lots of nonsens posts, end the fix and a lot of nonsens post again..

to get that script with the bugfix i have to read through all posts to be sure not to miss any important information and no one have the time to.. so they ask again... and let some one of us do the work for them...

i realy love to put my head in to something realy difficult and try to solve it.. and i love lua... but i'm groving tired of this board because of all messages that makes it hard to browse...

Heya peeps

I came here as a total Newbi to lua abt 3- 4 months ago

I have found this forum very informative,  helpful.  and  even entertaining in some parts.

The ppl here are very helpfull.

i tend to agree with (uk-kingdom)pH?tt?  its good to see a bit of banter as well as the serious stuff.

the only thing that i think would improve it . is by setting up individual forums for some of the great scripters.

I.E  can you imagine been a newbi  to robocop and having to read through all the posts to make sure you dont double post.

Keep up the good work Guys  things can only get better  :P

i agree with both scrollster and phatty..we can still have fun
but the finished scripts section could be a lot cleaner.
it could maybe be solved by just editing the script and add version # instead of posting a new version..then maybe add a bugreport thread in that section to avoid messing it up....

yo

perhaps this is something to think about.

what about making the finished section just for finished scripts and updates.  so just scripters can upload or post
and users can only take script and not post in this section.

e.g if there is a bug in a script then repair request go in another part of forum and if fixed folks can get the last version out of finished script section. [i think it was originnaly ment to be this way]

unless the scripter has an topic of his own
like robocop or channelbot now have
[ and i believe there are a few others who deserve their own forum topic asswel]

this could exist out of 2 parts finished and beta
finished is just to get scripts from and beta would be to post bugs and discuss new features.

this way i think it would be a lot more clearer for evryone
cause as i read through this topic and read the answer that a scripter has to go to all posts to find if he is missing something i thought this would be a better idear.

this way the script stays clean and not posted over and over again a 100 times before the folks are happy with it.

just my thoughts hope they were clear enough for the folks inhere

yup that would be great..
how about making som sort of text that shows when you are about to post(reply) in a script thread
like.."you can only post here if you started this thread..if you have a question or bugs to report post in bla bla"

if it's possible to do it like that

i like this idea, and it's not only posible 2 move a full topic but should also be posible 2 only move the post 2 the correct topic.
but the creator should also post a link where 2 users can post bug/mod reports/requests.
if it's a bug maby only edit the post, and for a mod post a new.

i think this is a good suggestion

@trucker,

what your basicly giving a description of how the situation is atm.

Finished scripts section is only for scripts, if you need some help about a script you post is Help with scripts
look at the description of that section:

Quote
Post into this forum your problems using some scripts ... THIS IS NOT THE PART OF THE FORUM FOR DEVELOPER DISCUSSIONS :)

futher more i think lots of stuff is written more then twice. Search first then request.

and about mod rights how they are atm.

I can't delete post of others only edit them.
I can delete, move, close , open threads

Hey guys ..

After being a regular user of this forum for a few weeks I can only say that this is by far the best Hub Software / Script support I've ever seen !!!

From even before switching from NMDCH to Ptokax I've been getting superb help and a kewl "even noobs are welcome" feeling of this place !
That makes this board a really uniqe place !!!

You guys have helped me from not knowing ANYTHING about LUA to being able to make a nice multi script for my Ops !! Thats just amazing !!!

All in all - You guys are doing a GREAT job !!

just a simple idea.
a sticky post in the howto section where ppl can request how-to's.
2 keep it tidy the posts with the requests can be deleted the moment the howto is made.

hello a little idear but a lot of work

make sections like

trigger bots
block bots
fun bots
etc.

this because i see a lot of folks asking for the same scripts over and over again and evrytime the creators have to find out the wheel again cause they cant find it either on the forum.

sections for mainscripts
like robo
and channelbot
and mean-machine
and nxs-3

with diffrent section for help and response
so only creator post in mainsection and the rest in help and response

and a section were the mainscript creators can request a section of there own
i think these great scripters have deserved that right

that way you can loose  the help with script section wich is in my opinion a messy part now
asfar as other sections go it is a bit messy also there are a lot of posts in the wrong sections of this forum, because folks dont know wich part they have to put their request.

ohh one final remark

perhaps an idear for scripters;
just let them update their original script cause in some of the cases the script gets reposted again and again that way taking a lot of space in the diffrent sections.

just a little thought of mine i hope i didnt pissed someone off cause i still think this is a great place to be thanks to the folks who make this place such a nice one and dont fail us the normal users with all of our requests.

that way peop only have to search in the section they want a script for

problem with this is, well tbh i think its a bad idea, ya cant have them for some packaged scripts and not others, imean for instance, llok at Brain master by nErBoS, its pretty knew and doing good, so he wud deserve his pwn section, now if more n more scripts make packages, they will porobby want there own section, causes havoc, and forum wud be massive, in my opinion bad idea =)

just my thought, later,,

few threads r in the other forum, few here.
i`m a older men.. so i have some probs with the multitasking lol

may be mea culpa..

well, cb got it's own section mainly because there where/are so main threads about cb.

i don't think the bigness of the bot matters but the popularity of the bot. Thread , views, posts.

Could someone make finding all the posts from one person a bit easier ?
What I mean is
1) click on the name to go to the user's profile
2) click on 'show posts from user' (listbox: all, last month, last week )
3) click 'Go'

... and voila :D

( is this the right place to post this ? )
