Guys, HELP !   I must be either stupid or blind (or both), but I tested out RC9a with no problems, then this morning tried it out on my hub for the first time, and it temp-banned all users trying to connect !     I have checked the settings until my brain hurts and my eyes are standing out like organ stops. I am obviously missing something simple and basic. Any suggestions before I give up and return to my Sinclair ZX81.     Maccy

looks like u have ISP box checked, try to unchecked it for all profiles..

One thing I have noticed so far, in the allowed clients I have minimum DC++ version set to 0.306 but users are still getting in with clients below that version. I have set the enable client/minversion check for users and there are no error messages in ptokax.

I prefer all users to be able to get filelists from any dc users, and a lot of fakers use versions that don't support mini slots so u can't get their filelists.

i see i run a private hub so i know who i allow in my hub....bot there is bots that can find faker i had them before when i ran my hub as a public hub plus my ops where good ast finding them...sorry if i seemed rude...

No m8, u didn't come across as being rude. It is a question i have been asked by other peeps. I don't want to run any more bots as i don't trust things that auto kick (that's what my ops are for) and I just find that by setting the miv ver for DC++ keeps a lot of fakers out.

BadClients Table is back in buisniss. Versions that ain't allowed can also be putted on that list. Tobe sure hehe

The ClientDetector will allways be a little bit fissy. The problem ?s that alot of none origenal dc++ clients all have 2 tags.

1. The tag of there own
2. The DC++ tag

Example:

So if you only allowe dc++ in your hub you also get Phantom DC++ in your hub. This is idem for more clients. DC++ Protocol Sucks - In alot of cases you need a OP-Client to get rid of them or to find them

This was just a little example there are more cases.

As lua Scripts can't get PK string or Lock we can't really say who is who and what is what. It's not full proof

I agree with what u say about op clients and all my ops are using dcdm which does detect them, but, i never had this problem with previous versions. Also, I know what you mean about different hacked/faker clients with the added bits on the tags/description but these are showing as DC++ tags.

They are normal users, I have been running my hub with min ver set at 0.306 for sometime and out of those tags i gave you 5 were stealth dc++.

Maybe you had some troubles. Like a script error. Then there could be a change they sliped in.

Try to disconnect them with a message that you are testing.

And see if they can reconnect.

I think that a allow list is best, because then all other clients will be blocked. If you have a deny list, then it's not just the client that you want that can connect, it is all clients that isn't denied that get acces.
