Hi People,

Am using a D Link 614+ Router and i have port forwarded the correct ports and everything and it has been working fine for many months. Then recently a few months ago i keep losing connection to my network...sometimes it will say 'Wireless Connection Unavailable' whereas other times i can tell by Internet Explorer website pages not loading and speeds in DC++ decreasing to 0 bytes. I lose connection every 5 minutes and its getting quite annoying now because i can't even be on the internet or use DC++

Also when i try to connect to hubs it will say connected but it will not actually go in to the hub until i load up a website page in internet explorer which sort of gives it a push start.

I use Zonealarm and i've been using that for many months before the problem occured and i let Windows configure ma wireless network settings...

If anyone could help me by telling me some solutions that would be absolutley gr8!

Thanx In Advance!

Devastator

Ps am sorri if it is in the wrong section but i thought offtopic would be more or less the best place because this is more so computer related and dc++ not ptokax or lua.

first connect to net, make sure ur using another ip.....dont use no-ip or hub address, leave connection up for 20mins, if u dont go down again then ur being ddos'd else if still do, then either they have a worm giving them ur ip....or u have some other prob...but tbh thats what it sounds like dude.....g'luck

Hi Guys,

Thanx for the replies... I just virus scanned ma pc using Norton Anti Virus 2003 with the latest Virus definitions yet it doesn't seem to pick up any trojans or worms...

Phatty i dnt seem to properly understand what ur saying...d'ya mean that if i can stay connected in a hub thru using the ip address to connect then that means i have a worm or do i not have a worm or what? sorri for not understanding ur solution and i appreciate the replies from both you and the gr8 plop  8)  :P

Thanx Agen

Your best strategy is to eliminate impossible factors in the equation to your problem.

Do you have multiple computers behind the router (I would assume so)? If so, do they all expierence the same problem? Have you tried another router? Does anything in the router look supicious? Same goes for cable modem if you have one. If not, try contacting your ISP to see if they can help diagnose / explain the problem.

By the way, there are known conflicts with Zone Alarm and DC++.

basically, connect to the net, make sure the no-ip is not pointing to ur ip, if its being attacked, it will be attacking ur comp...leave net up for a while, if u stay connected, then ur being attacked for sure, else if still go down, then its possible they are getting ur ip....or u have some other problem ;-)

to me...this sounds like a hub killer for sure. do what (uk-kingdom)pH?tt? says adn remove ur hostname and force urself onto a new ip address. Then check your connection. If is ok, put ur hostname back, or point at your new ip and see if you start to drop.

The new hub killers use connection flooding to literaly drop the defenders net. Most isp's have flooding checks and when say u have a hugh amount of open ports running, they will drop your net at the security risk.

What i wanna know is after these attacks does your ptokax or any other logs you use have these strings...

$Lock = EXTENDEDPROTOCOLABCABCABCABCABCABC
PK = DCPLUSPLUS0.401ABCABC

If so the new hub killers use these to allow ptokax to keep the connections open until they time out. The also have ip deflectors that seem to point at real ips taken from another hub.

neways...this aint no good!
