follow development thread under news thread, go back for some pages.
read it, but I don't experience that. For me it does free up memory and I know it because for example if some users leave, the memory usage will get lower (checked through the taskmanager). Maybe the problem only appear depending on your system(OS, drivers and hardware).

uhm..it could be..

any reason why .330 and robo9 shouldnt allow more than 150 users in without lagging badly?.
im on a 2mb connection and  no uploads or d,loads going on, also only triv running but hub resources say its only using 1576kb memory in total.

op sys xp home
pent 4 3200
new system runs fast.

any thoughts would be nice please

Trivial quiz is a memory sucking scripts..it use many resources, and the last time I used it, i got more than 15 user disconnected from the hub in 5 seconds..
..maybe it could be that script.

hiya blackwings,
ok i can test that np's i would love to believe that it was trivia.
but soo many other hubs run with it and seem 300 plus users. maybe its just a uk isp thing i'm not sure.
i will test script tho for sure lol

thanks for reply tho bud. gazz

what's your upload? sounds like a UK isp thing. most houses around the Uk wont be able to get more than 250 users because 256 is the fastest upload available to most. check if your upstream is saturated, if so, then you know.

gazzer

yeah it is 256 uploads max. only way i can increase that is by going to the new 4mb.
and not forking out extra dosh just for that lol

well, thats the reason. Trivia isn't just taking allot of memory, but also bandwidth. So 150 users on a 256 upload trivia will cause lag. So if you want to have triva and your hub running smooth, then you need to get a faster upload speed.

gazzer

hiya blackwings

i fint that pretty ironic that everyone auto blames trivia for lagging a hub.
but in actual fact robo itself is taking more memory kb for kb than triv is lol.
at present robo is running at 440kb and triv is at 198kb

jees am i sad for sitting watching memory usage and pendering about how and why heheheh
have a good day bud gazz

ps any news on opti's health

next generation Ptokax will have same prestanda as verlihub, regarding upload )calculated +10 000 users / 100Mbit connection)  so be patient and wait for it.

Im holding 300 users whit my 0.5 mbits upload whitout any problem at all ( No trivia running) hub uses about half my upload capacity.

But ive seen that nez generation clients uses causes hubs to use more bandwith especially dc++ clients between 0.401 - 0.667 whos got a myinfo bug ( sends myinfo spam during hashing)

gazzer

jeees guy cant ask any questions in here anymore without sarccy comments back.

yes i know this is robo9.0e forum, but i thought a forum was still a chat room of a kind. in here specifically for robo9 and anything to do with it.

so i appologise if i asked a silly question about something i was unsure of and YOU GUYS obviously know more about. why do you think i asked it  in here in the first place.

sorry bin bad day and bit cheesed off.

No one can realistically expect you to code properly when you are this sick, and I would challenge any of you to dispute that.

Optimus puts his all into making this fantastic FREE project available to us and he is ill and deserves ALL our support right back to him.  He is a dear friend to me and as with any friend I love to see them up and active doing what they like to do (like code in his case), but I'm damn sure going to stand by him at all costs when he is down.

If I don't remeber wrong, you can choose what levels the script should clean. Well, one off the version deletes everyone except Masters.

I don't think so because the user cleaner can be set to just delete certain profiles, but maybe it's a glitch in the one that is being distributed with robocop.
Don't hope so, opti has enough to be concerned off as it is, like being sick and getting better.
Hope you feel better soon opti

it happened suddenly. How do i fix that?  ?(

/edit
i even replaced it with a new RoboCopv9.0e.lua
i fixed it by deleting the counter.txt and writing a new one...Eny explanation about that error?

blackwings

hmm, what did you do when it happend?

BoJlk

Computer's Power failure followed by restart
I suspect it was corruption!

after those messages the PX did let me run the RC displaying those errors, i've replaced the RoboCop's *.lua and the *.exe files, it didn't helped  ?(
So i deleted the counter.txt that was empty.
Created a new txt file and named it counter.txt
that what fixed it  ?(
